I'm using FS-TH9X with stock module on my quadcopter. The max range of the Tx seems to be approx 300m. My quad uses APM and radio fail safe is configured so no flyaway or crash till now. Does the stock module has less range or by any chance do I have a faulty one? Also if I want to get 1.5-2 Kms range, should I replace the stock module with FrSky?

I've checked range of my one bought a week ago and it was 850 meter.

I have purchased mine last year. I have opened the Tx RF module & Receiver to check for any damage in the antenna coax cable but it was fine. So don't know why I get less range.

are u using lipo for power radio?

Using 8 NiMh 2100mAh batteries.

it happens even i had a faulty module... range would cut after about 300 m only... i decided to just chuck it and upgrade to frsky... never looked back since!

yesterday i flown 1057 meters with flysky stock module and its 8CH receiver. but not stable more than 900.

@Akhil & Antriksh: Which RF module version do you guys have on the Tx? Is it RM-002 or TM-002? Upon searching online I came to know there are 2 versions of these radios (TH9x & TH9xB). Mine is equipped with RM-002 module.

@aniket: How much range are you getting with FrSky ?
