I have heard 2.4Ghz FPV causing interference problems with the 2.4 Ghz Tx Rx Systems.  :o Since more people are moving toward 2.4Ghz, dont you think it is advisible to have 1.2GHz FPVs rather than 2.4.  8-)

i believe you even had them. It will be a good idea promoting 1.2Ghz FPVs.  ;D

1.2 G is not the solution as it comes in the first harmonics of 2.4 G hence interfereance is not ruled out  , 900 mhz is the best option  but  900 mh fpv is far more expensive than 2.4 G hence using a traditional Mhz radio  is a better option .

yeah... i also heard that it interfears with the Tx frequency. so that is why people preffer 900mhz fpv products...

In that case 2.4 radios should also interfere with each other as a 2.4 FPV can potentially interfere with 2.4 radios, right ?

To extrapolate, "All 2.4 Ghz communicating devices can interfere with each other. "  :headscratch: :headscratch:

It shows many 2.4Ghz radio systems working simultaneously without issues.  Other 2.4Ghz brands have also done similar test.

What happens when 2.4Ghz is used for both FPV and radio is as follows.

1) If you are DSSS (like Spektrum) AND you turn on the video first, then Spektrum will pick two other channels for transmission.

2) If you are on FHSS (like Futaba), then the radio signal jumps on different channels evey 10ms (2ms pulse with 8ms delay in between), so there is a good change of seeing disturbance in the video periodically.

Now the real reason why it is strongly discouraged that both FPV and RC are together on 2.4Ghz is because the FPV transmitter is sitting right next to the RC receiver on the aircraft and they are both on close frequencies, and since the FPV transmitter power is usually much higher, it tends to saturate the input amplifier stage of the receiver.  This can result in loss of RC control, leading to crashes.

You are right  about the 2.4 G DSSS being better than 2.4 G fhss.
But  when flying  FPV beyond visual range   you can neither take chances on the the RC control or the Video streaming .
We have had video drop when the plane was around 900 m out and I can assure you it is scary  and had I not been tracking it by binoculars when Venkat was flying  the plane would have been history that day.

So despite all logical  explanations I would certainly like to put as much distance as possible between my frequencies .

That is only when it applies to interference with FPV/video-feeds.  In general, FHSS is considered better than DSSS, which is why most 2.4Ghz systems are FHSS, and even Spektrum who is the poster boy for DSSS has now got a version named DSM-J that is closer to FHSS.

I was not trying to explain that having both on 2.4Ghz is OK.  In fact, what I was saying is that it is best to have RC and FPV on two different bands (ie, jus like you said... "put as much distance as possible" between them). So the "logical explanation" is that one should NOT put both FPC and RC on 2.4Ghz :)
