Just upgraded my radio (JR 9X II) from 72 to 2.4 using FRSky set. Tested the range with Easystar (the most trusted bird of all) and yalahhhhh !!! I sent it up and way uppppp... I even tested the failsafe by switching off the Tx... It is the best system one can buy to upgrade to 2.4 without hitting a hole in the pocket...

Cheers...

hi ,
I was as exited as you on the price front , and bought Frsky V8ft, 4 receivers and a TX module .
last Sunday while i was flying my TX overheated and i lost a plane .
I am a electronic enthusiast o i decided to investigate and found that a ic No T212 was cooked and was overheating to the extent that when i was checking the temp it almost burnt my finger .
The best part is that it functions when it is cold and in a Minuit it gets hot and fails .
Now i am trying to get hold of the specifications of this ic for a replacement , does anyone have any info of this ic?
By the way the RF board for the Rx and TX is the same , identical.

Hi . lost my plane due to failure of my TX module frsky V8FT , on opening it i find that the IC T212 gets so hot that you cant touch it .
The module works but the servos have a delayed and jerky movement .
It works ok for a few seconds till it heats up .
I am looking for details for this ic ,if any of you electronic guys have the details .
i cannot find any sort of information on the net for pin out etc .
By the way the board is identical on both the RX and The TX , only the microcontroller is different.
any help on the above will be appreciated .

Sorry to hear about the loss. What radio were you using this on? I have just done a couple of flights on Easystar with 4 ch Rx and Piper Cub with 8Ch Rx. No glitches and great range.

I am using a Futaba PCM 1024/ T9CHP.

Contact Chase Wu. He is the one who designs and manufactures these things. Maybe he can help.

Thanks , please can i have his email id so i can write to him?

hi ,parambir ,
please can you do me a favor and check whether your module gets hot when you switch it on for couple of minuets ,as i have tightened the contacts on my module and it seems to work , but it does get quite hot , so i am in doubt whether it is a normal thing or some sort of defect.

Mine seems to working fine. I did not have any heating problems...

I am so very happy , my electronics knowledge came to my rescue.
I have many receivers and only one TX module , so I was kind of desperate , so when I found the 2.4 ghz board comman in both the tx and Rx I decided to spoil one Rx and swapped the boards , and bingo the tx started to function perfectly , no overheating .
I traced the original cause of failure to the poor quality of connector ,used on the tx .
Alli did was to tighten the contact with the help of a small watch screwdriver by bending the strips towards the centre to give a more firm contact .
Also I scraped the enough edges on the plastic casing to give a better fit into the main unit .
I have read on many forums that using the module without the antenna can burn out the ic , not though in my case , it was a poor contact .
Now further to my experiment I have ordered the ic and will replace the one on the receiver and see if it works .
