Hello,

I have moded fs-i6 Tx to connect to a 1s li-ion(from old cellphone) battery.
I tested flying with a micro and it works.

Any one doing the same, know how to adjust the Tx battery voltage alarm?

Note: Tx is running 14 channel rssi mod firmware v1.7.5

Thanks.

Quite a coincidence .... I have just done the same

Slightly different route ..
I connected a old cellphone battery to a voltage boost converter and adjusted
the output voltage to 5v .

Attaching a pic ...

Were you using this DC to DC step up module?
So you have not adjusted the TX low voltage alarm threshold in TX settings?
What mah li ion are you using? Are you seeing any improvements in battery life?

saikat

- yes

- no

- 900 mah Li ion
I get about 6 hrs of run time - about a month roughly .

Thank you. Ordered the dc-dc step up module. Will report back how much time I got.

And take same approach, DC to DC step up?
Robu is selling Samsung 2600mAh 18650 1S Lithium Ion Cell Copy for 250 and original for 620.

saikat

18650 will not fit in the battery bay without cutting the battery compartment

tictoc21

There is another category 18350 li ion if  available.

Here is pictures of how I moded,

Could you please provide the exact DC to DC module you used? Mine is big and cannot be accommodated in the battery tray.

saikat

See your own post #2 . I have used the very module to which you linked.

A 900mah battery is smaller than a 1020 mah
And the existing battery holder springs are removed.
Also, it looks like, dc to dc module I used is bigger in dimention.

Completely concealed the setup. Moved the dc to dc module to inside.
I can either put AAs or li-ion.
Happy with it.

Today while using the Tx, suddenly screen started flickering and tx voltage showed 6.08v (it was 5.08 till then) and immediately smoke from inside (I guess it was from dc to dc step up module kept inside tx).
Immediately disconnected everything and tested with normal AA battery. Everything is working.
Tested dc to dc step up module separately and it is working too.
Not sure what went wrong.
Will use li-ion without dc to dc step up module.
