Title: HELP!!!
Post by: VC on November 27, 2009, 11:38:30 PM
Gentlemen and Ladies (if present),

Saikat, has donated this RC Tx to me. Now I need to know how to make it work.

It is a Futaba FP-T5UAF Module based Digi Propo RC System and what is missing is the Tx Module.

I have some questions to ask the experts.

A. Where do I get the Tx Module from (72MHz or any other)?
B. How much will it cost me?
C. Where can I get a matching Rx unit and how much will that cost me?
D. I need it to drive a Submarine powered by a Type 500 Brushed DC Motor with the
foll specs: Voltage 7.4 to 11.1
                  No Load Speed 17,660 RPM
                  Current max 20Amps
                  Stall Torque 2 Kg/Cm
The motor has a body length of 50mm and an outer dia of 35.8mm
                  Weight 148 grams

Considering all the above, What ESC do I use?

E. What else do I need? Batteries for Rx etc. (Please remember that you are talking
                                                             to an absolute RC Novice)

F. Please suggest some cheap servos, I need 3 of them.

Any advice/offers/help will be deeply appreciated.

Thanks and Regards,

VC

The photograph shows the module on the TX. Is this picture of another TX? What exactly are you looking for?

Buying a Tx module and matching Rx is likely to cost you more than a complete, pre-owned set.

You MAY find someone with a spare Rx but the Tx module is less likely. Maybe from someone who has modified his set to 2.4 GHz. Actually both could come from such a source.

All the best to you!

Though my RC skills/knowledge is rather limited, this is exactly what I had felt. The cost of acquiring the comps would be prohibitive. Anyway, thanks for trying to help out. Do keep me in mind in case you come across someone who can help.

Cheers!

Wonder why Sai is taking so long to pitch with his ASSAN module :)

Edit: I see he just did.

I doubt if 2.4 g can work for  submarine , but any way thanks for bringing it up.

Keep an eye out for this place, I have picked up many great bargains here.

Some examples are :

The problem is that many ship only to the US, so you have to ask some friend there to collect and forward it to you.  There are some sellers who are willing to ship worldwide also, so just keep an eye out for those.
