I was wondering if there is any way to increase the range/reliability of the Tx-Rx that come with the cheap (around 250 bucks) rc cars? They employ the Rx2B Tx2B ic..

Yes, Just give another stage RF Power Amplifier.
You can evn add TV Yagi Antenna and get more range.

But that is Digital control (On/Off) based on Tx-2, Rx-2 IC.
