Dear All,
Just posting this for info as i thought it may be useful for others in forum.
Was recently getting less flying time from my Futaba 7c Tx and wanted to upgrade the battery to lipo, but was unsure of consequences on Tx components...wrote a mail to "Futaba Tech Support" and following was the reply..

Dear Sir/Madam,
I own one of your 2.4Ghz FAAST 7C Transmitters with the stock Ni-Cd
battery.

Question - Can I use a 3cell LI-PO battery for my transmitter (which
has a 12.6V fully charged and 10.5V safe discharge voltage) Would the
higher voltage have any adverse effect on the transmitter circuitry?
My stock Ni-Cd battery {NT8IB} shows 11.1V when fully charged with the
stock charger (FUTM1830) with around 10hrs of charging but voltage
quickly drops to 9.8 with about an hour of transmitter usage (for
flying). So I want to upgrade to something that holds the charge
better .....but only if it is safe.

Any help in this regards would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your recent e-mail.

Futaba has no recommendations for any batteries other than the stock ones that come in their transmitters. Use of anything else can cause harm to the internal portions of your transmitter and will void any warranty it may have.

The average flight times of the stock batteries is normally sufficient for any pilot during any standard day at the field.
