hi i am having a hk 6ch v2 radio. I like to use it along with aerofly prof: del:. I have a programming cable from hk , it works good while programing.... But the sim cant detect the radio.... Pls help me, can i use the radio for sims

spitfire

Windows detect programming cable on com port and not as controller. So I think you can not use this cable with simulator. you will need to buy separate cable.

thank u, can i use ppjoy for using the cable which i am stuck with

First try to use that cable with FMS or HelisimRC simulator softwares which are free unless you have already purchased aerofly pro,

then once you are sure that the cable works then try to see how you can use it with aero fly

do the following steps

go to the PPJoy website and dwonload their modified version of FMS and install that which comes with the joystick interface or you can even install the joystick serperately, I am sure that with  some R&D that cable will work with FMS as per the manual you need to convert the PPM mixing on the radio as well go through the manual again.

thank u every one. I tried the cable on clear view usng ppjoy ,  in that sim we can see the stick movements.... For my surprise even when the sticks are idle  on my radio the sim shows stick movement signals.

I once :banghead: many times with such a problem at someone's house, where the sim would show erratic movement without any control inputs.  He told me sometimes it would work, and other times it would not.  We suspected loose contacts etc... we had a conversion from mono audio jack type to Futaba square type (6 pins) so there were multiple things to suspect.  Finally, it was traced down to just lack of grounding on the laptop !  When the laptop was plugged in for charging with just a two wire connection to the mains (ie, without any grounding), these symptoms were there, and when it was working on battery power, no erratic controls were not there.

I always thought that it was the tx giving out erractic signals, Thanks for this Tip Anwar..there is always so much learning from you  :)

I dont know more about the Sim cable & Programing cable. However explaining my basic idea.

Programming Cable : It is used basically to change some parameter in the microcontroller. So, Communication through serial or USB ( depending on Type of cable) between microcontroller and Computer program setting (Through Drivers and set of electrical pulse codes.

Simulator Cable : It is used to communicate between simulator program (Generally can take a few common type inputs like PPM/PCM) and Transmitter (Generally gives PPM/PCM output to used with maximum no of Simulator program).

So, USB Programming cable can be designed to make to do duel function but not always.
The two mode selection can be controlled with computer settings (Incoming signal from Computer) and can select to function the cable as either programming or simulator by the chip in the simulator cable (resides in USB jack PCB or serial Jack PCB or midway).

Now at first the literature have to be checked if it can work as simulator or not.

If yes, Like grounding problem, as said by Anwar sir, The continuity of the cord negative to chesis connection to be checked (Or both end casing as ground continuity truely speaking  chesis of both equipment.).

Of course I always advice to use three pinned adapter for laptop (even for SMPS of PC) for ground continuity to avoid hazard. Moreover, I request all to cut off the moulded plug top and fix conventional electrical plug top to avoid loose connection in case of low dia plug top pins found in low cost cords comes with even branded CPUs.

Whatever the Tx, (Sim cable available or not) the servo signals always Pulse width signal. coming out from Rx. So, you can use receiver connected with diode adder to make PPM/PCM and can fed sound port through PPJOY. Always.
We have to unite and to prove ourself to make indigenous products as well as marketing / Canvasing them. I'm sure we must achieve success if we try unitedly.
