This Transmitter can be used for flying all basic aeroplane, gliders and Multirotors (Since Flight controller does all the Mixing in Multirotors two aux channel available for all aux input to FC). No swash plate settings throttle and pitch curve settings for heli so can be used for only for a very basic Heli with a two servo 120 Degrees swash plate with fly bar and not for any other heli.

Some of the very cool features which this radio has which are very well thought of which are not there even in big brands and handy for a beginner are as follows.

1.  collapsible antenna. Every radio set the most delicate part which keeps the user worried most for damage is the antenna. when available collapsible just push it in after use.

2.   Collapsible carrying Handle. very small form factor because of this can be easily packed inside a smallest of the boxes. occupies least space.

3.   Easy Mode Change.  Can be change to any mode From Mode 1 to 4 with ease both mechanically and in the menu at ease in field without any hassles.

4.    Variable Transmission Power  very handy when flying indoors, Range Testing, (when operating simulator see point 14 below) to save battery power for longer duration of operation.

5.    Transmitter Voltage from 3.7V to 8.4V.  The radio can be powered with a 4 Cell Nimh/ 1S Lipo/ 2S Lipo. With a removable 4AA battery case it can be easily powered with NiMh or you can connect it with a 1S or 2S Lipo and after removing the 4xAA battery case there is ample space to fit a 2500mah 2S Lipo.

6.    Provision to adjust the low voltage alarm in the menu for various battery type.  I found this the coolest bigginer friendly feature available. you can adjust the low voltage alarm based on the type of battery used.

7.    Timer Function. Timer Function with a dedicated toggle for it keeping in mind the ease of programing it required for a beginner.

8.    Simple Easy Programming Menu. Simple Menu with an eight model memory apt for a beginner.

9.    Back Lit Display for ease of operation in any environment. No modification of backlight required.

10.   Digital Trim with Audible feedback of centering and adjust. Very cool essential feature for mid flight adjustment of Trim. Digital Trim very easy handling.

11.   Separate pre assigned D/R Toggle Switch with Programmable D/R Function.

12.   Receiver Voltage 4.8V to 8.4V. 6 Channel receiver very light which can be used as a micro receiver also at 6.5gms. Can be powered with a HV BEC/Life too. However care to be taken to ensure Servos too are capable of HV This point was missing in manual so thought of highlighting it.

13.   Pre Assigned Toggle Switches for Channel 5 and 6.. I would have loved an additional POT trim too though.

14.   SIMULATOR DSC Port 3.5 Audio Plug connector with PPM out. Can be used as Simulator with any dongle available by connecting it with 3.5 Audio interconnecting cable. The Radio can be used as the Students Transmitter with any brand master Radio by interconnecting with a Trainer cable made with 3.5mm Audio Cable. Coolest feature of the port is it has a PPM enable function where in only when you plug a 3.5 Audio pin in the DSC port the PPM is enabled and automatically the Radio internal Transmitter module is switched off. Anyone interested in Hack for the interconnecting cable please ask can post details.

15.   Program Mixes.  It has all the basic program mixes like Elevon, V Tail, flaperon.

16.   Throttle not zero Alarm. Alarm indicator when the Throttle not zero when switched on.

17.   Internal battery Voltage indicator on display.

All the above features are very well thought of feature especially for the beginners available at such affordable price within easy reach of every students.

LOL... it's a Chinese duplicate model of fly-dream F6TB. The RCBazaar is selling by replacing the stickers and by making new boxes under the name of Avionics...   ;D ;D ;D :giggle: :giggle: :giggle:

Thanks for the review, :)
Would like to know, when will extra recievers and lipo for tx will be available.

Dharmik

Very nice radio set. Ordered one and they shipped. Keep it up team RCB. Please suggest compatible 2s lipo for rcb6i.

Just that mode 2 to mode 1 slider is enough for me.
I am mode 2 and everyone else here is mode 1.
And they all try to fly my models.
Sooner or later they lose it, except Harveer (the top gun).
All i need is a mode 2 mode 1 slider.
Well done RCB!
(If only it had the simulator too)

No sim cable? What will be the price with the sim cable for delivery to vijayawada andhra pradesh if i buy some other stuff with it?

Reply#100 Lipo capacity for convertion corrected to 1800mah - 2200mah

Lipo conversion is as easy as that. Remove existing 4AA cell battery case. Get a 2S lipo 1800mah-2200 mah with micro jst power plug with shortest lead for more space in case of 2200. Fit the lipo close battery cover. Change low voltage alarm in menu to 2S Lipo.

There is still some space in thickness but length is very marginal for 2200mah.

sarfraz1997

Can some seniors on this thread tell me whether rcb6i is better or flysky FS- T6

VC

Internal dimensions of the battery bay are as follows:

Length - 110mm
Width - 35mm
Depth - 15mm

I have deliberately left some tolerance on the dimensions.

@Sarfraz  Flysky FS-T6 which is approx Rs 4000/- definitely has more all round features in terms of the Programing menu and is designed for use with Helicopters also in addition to planes and gliders with more setting features pertaining to heli incorporating various Swash plate settings, throttle and pitch curves, end Point adjustments. Has Exponential setting in addition to D/R. More flexibility in switch/ POT VR assignment.

RCB6i is FHSS ( Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum) system and FlySky FS - T6 is a AFHDS ( Automatic Frequency Hopping Digital System) To a common man I believe both have same features but different names given by individual developers.

But FS-T6 has none of the beginner friendly Niceties and simple menu features, preassigned simplicity of RCB6i. If you are an advance pilot who can afford more or if you are purely a Heli Pilot you should Consider FlySky FS-T6. If you are Beginner in plane/multirotors then RCB6i is a fantastic affordable radio set for you. Its your choice to make.

PS : Gusty thanks for the Hitech Stap on flysky which you forgot here. I wish if only it had been something bigger.  :giggle:

does it require to have 1C Amp rate?

sundaram

@Darmik Why do you ask?  At 1C rating a 2200mah Lipo has the capacity to give 2200ma continuous. Whereas the tx draw is just <100ma. So Lipo has lot of margin. Anyhow at 2200mah capacity any thing above 0.05C rating is sufficient at 1000mah any thing above 0.1C is sufficient. Lipos are at the least 5C and above so no worries.

To use this radio as simulator any commonly available simulator dongle like 9 in 1 or 6 in 1 and a 3.5 Audio interconnecting cable photos posted should do. Please disregard the servo connector for wireless sim modification attached to my dongle in this context.

Moment you connect the 3.5 pin in DSC jack and switch on the PPM mode is enabled and internal TX module is switched off automatically. Plug the USB dongle in PC use any SIM sofware which came with dongle after calibration.  All six channels work in simulator.

VC

Sandy, please point out a link where this cable is available and also links to the available free simulator software. That should help a lot of beginners.

sarfraz1997

Thanks Sundaram sir for detail explanation, just was interested in knowing the signal range hope both are same, FS -T6 says its RF Power: Less Than 20dBm where as rcb6i has 20db. Hope this wont make any diff

sundaram

@VC my cable came with my simulator. Most the simulator dongles comes with this cable. One can also buy this in Audio eqpt store or musical instrument store. Only FMS simulator software  is available free to download online. Rest are licenced versions available as cracked in torrents form. To download Aerofly or realflight google is great help.

@Sarfraz as per my understanding both are max 20db.

Dharmik

Thank you Sundaram sir. Waiting for mine to arrive. Hope to see End points and expo features in it.

sundaram

@Darmik I hope you are referring to FlySky FS-T6

Ayush1991

Got it yesterday ;D ;D.as my first radio.all functions are very easy to understand,a great radio for beginners, currently i am practicing on simulator, it connects just with a 3.5mm mono or stereo audio cable. Will have my first flight tomorrow :-\ :-\.will update more....i want to buy extra receivers but cant find them on rcbazaar.

6 months warranty seems to be a little less for this Tx Rx system

anandp

RCB is providing warranty that is itself very nice. As other than established brands/stores no one gives you warranty on budget radios.

Just imagine you get the radio from HK and it gets faulty, what you will do?

In my view its a good buy for the customers, as they can get the warranty on the purchase.

Aman23

I don't doubt the reliability and many senior members have suggested me the same.
RCB and Avionics are also well established brands and so I wish that RCB can provide
1yr warranty like any other established brands too. It will make RCB more competetive
and at par with suppliers like HK. I don't think RCB guys are not capable of doing this especially now,
when they are going to open up a big store in Pune and maybe become India's leading supplier of hobby parts.

I hope RCB guys are reading this. Wishing RCB a great success for the upcoming store! :)

avesh

I have been using rcb 7x for past 5 months or more and never had any issues relating to connectivity, yes but one thing , I am not happy with the quality of switches and their are issues with digital trims.
