Dear All,just thought of taking my RC Heli for a ride today, while opening the Remote controller to insert the batteries,i found this,
I think its rusting or something, but looks nasty,
Wondering if i should use the same one or buy a new one.
Also,if i buy a New one, will it work with my Helicopter?
The remote control is 40 mhz.
???
no worries......this thing can still work.... actuallu not much damage.... If youare familair with little electronics.... polarity and soldering you can make t work.
Open it up... see if you see that same rusting inside on the PCB etc..... if it not then there are 100% chance of TX working. trace +& - wire and connect battery and try if it works take to a electronics shop they have spare to replace the spring or the metal piece.
this is not a very big fault.....try above first i am sure you will not require to buy a new one...
Probably you left the batteries inside, and they leaked. Yes open up the transmitter and check to see there is no leakage on the PCB etc (like rastsaurabh suggests). If everything is clear, it should work. The broken springs will likely not be replaceable , you might have to get hold of a new battery holder, and cut up some plastic to fit that inside.
hello girish ... missed you at field on sunday..!!!
Hey Saurabh, I came in on Saturday but had a crash so back to the workbench ;)
so do you people also fly on Saturdays ???
Agree with rastsaurabh!
Dont use the Tx without changing the battery connectors (spring and non spring side), which is easily available. before using the tx try cleaning the tx board with IPA solution or PCB cleaner.
rusted terminals are prone to break any time and you will not be able to control ur birdie that time. cleaning is required as leaked chemical might reached the board and corode the terminals of battery or other board part.
