Title: repairing the orange R610
Post by: romanxdsouza on March 17, 2015, 02:19:51 AM
May be this thread would help someone,
i have the r610 orange reciver with the antenna hand come off the day i recieved it had a hard time figuring out what to do finally decided the best way take a chance and diy.
The antenna had come of with  the copper trace which had to be on the circut board(pic 1) .the antenna has to be soldered to the circuit board, and that would be difficult for me or impossible given the damage ,as im no good in this stuff.

So then i scratched the area were the antenna had come of couldnt find any trace at all ,then tried soldering it to the other side of the rx as i had seen A2 so that would be antenna 2 but did some range test and it was cutting of f ,no good.then again i opened the rx looked very close  and decided to scratch just above from were the antena had come of (pic below) and finally a very very teeny trace of some metal stuff apeard i blindly took the antenna tined it and just touched it to that metal piece ....and thank god it worked ....did range check it worked ...i think iwas just lucky...... hope it does well in  the long run.if not no problem i learnt some moves.

they say this rx weights 9.8 gams but when i weighed it it was 12grams i dont know how so was thinking of using it with out case but  then what if i loose the sticker on the rx which is to know the channels for the servos so went ahead and tried this  :giggle: :giggle: :giggle: :-\ ;) ;) wont be using the top cover .or may be also find a way to use without any cover but with sticker of channels....thinking transparent heat shrink.

add a little bit of epoxy around the antenna for mechanical strength.

Great you repaired it

Though in first few pics it looks like the trace to pad you soldered was cut. If its working well then good ;D
