Hey guys, I was shocked today after 25 minutes of using normal AA cells in my CT6B Tx, the battery is showing low. It is way too expensive to continue using AA cells, so I was wondering if I could use a LiPo battery to power it? It requires 12V, so will a 11.1 LiPo battery be enough? Which do you recommend I purchase?

Also what does the 1C,2C, etc mean? How much C should I keep in my battery so I dont fry my transmitter?

For a CT6B, you need 3S Transmitter LiPo pack that is only 1.5mm thick.
An option is Turnigy 1450mmAh, Transmitter pack.

For transmitters a lower C rating is recommended. C rating refers to either the charge or discharge rate. In this case, it is the discharge rating. The calculations are as follows
Max LiPo discharge current = Capacity (in Amp hours) x Discharge C rating
Thus a 2200 mAh 25 C LiPo is capable of discharging at (2200/1000) x 25= 55 Amps.
Transmitter LiPos are made with a low C rating in order to reduce the cost and lower the self discharge (discharge when not in use). I don't know about the CT6B in particular but I am guessing it runs at around 9V not 12 since it uses 8 AA batteries (am I right?). You could probably use a LiPo with as low a C rating as you can as long as it fits in the battery bay.
I would suggest you either use an LiFe (lithium iron phosphate) transmitter pack (just make sure your charger supports LiFe chemistry) or AA size NiMH cells (this is what I use in my RCB6i).

haha :D

ok listen up. IDK what batteries do you use mine work flawlessly.

Here it is how its supposed to be done.

I have those SONY Cycle energy 2700mAh rechargable AA batteries. bought 8 for 1K.

Fullcharge takes about a day on my Envie Fabia charger.

Radio shows:
Green LED for 6 hrs with mixed usage of flying and idle ON
Yellow for about 8-10 hrs more with mixed usage.
Red is the max. I havent used it in Red state in a way that i was able to see how much exactly it lasts but for reference after yellow LED i used my radio again after idk a week perhaps and it lasted me another3 days of mixed usage when the batteries died ( servo didnt take any signal )

So here it is :)

i am using 8 1000 mah rechargeable batteries on my fly sky TX

but i want to change it into 1000 mah 20c lipo

is it worth changing??

i want to know if normal rechargeable batteries and lipo of same capacity do they give same amount of run time for transmitter
or if same capacity lipo give greater run time compared to normal rechargeable batteries??

Its 15mm or 1.5cm ?

In theory it should be same but due to difference is cell make, quality, internal resistance etc they may differ slightly.

If they are working and giving you good time don't replace then besides Nicd or Nimh type rechargeable batteries are more forgiving compared to Lipos .
Today might be a great and wonderful day. It depends on you.

MKARTIKGANDHI

no they dont give me more then 15-20 min of flying time after that due to low voltage TX automatically switches off

please give me some suggestion for lipo use with TX what capacity lipo i should use to get good fly time

My bad :banghead: , It's 15mm or 1.5 cm - thanks for finding the error, Sahilkit, sir  :)
But I wonder ! Why it took 9 whole days for someone to spot such a big mistake !!

guys i found it

check this out for flysky th9x

this lipo is right here

I had originally placed an order for that tx battery, but I cancelled it and I'm having Hobbyking's Turnigy Tx battery imported. It fits in the battery compartment.

Guys i live in India what type of aa battery will be best for the fs-ct6b transmitter ,and i dont have idea of upgrading it to lipo... I just want to buy a nimh battery ... Will it would be same like lead battery .

Aravind298

I don't recommend using Lead acid battery packs. Very messy.
I used Nimh cells when I was starting up. But I felt, they lost their capacity overtime.

I'd suggest the LiPo for TxRx. Invest your money in that.

About AA cells, it will be finished during your first flight. It had happened to me. NOT recommended. You will end up spending your money in it.

Else, if you're really short on budget, try eneloop cells. They don't seem to have any memory effect. But spending for a lipo seemed much sensible to me.
