Hi All,
Just want to check if anyone has been experiencing signal interference from cell phone towers. Last time when I was in Hyd, I was hovering my quad on the terrace and seem to have many signal problems due to nearby (intact same building) mobile phone towers.. Specifically I was using Spektrum & JR DSM Tx & Rx.
Please do share your feedback..
Thanks in advance..
One of my friend had same issue with mobile towers . Once the plane is above the tower , It would just fly away . He was using dx6i . Even Lance sir (member here) crashed his planes many times due to mobile towers .
We have had a similar issue with a guy on our field he was using a JR
But a DSM right , sir ?
correct
its not about which brand ...but which frequency band ur using ...earlier cell phones used to work only on 600-800 -1200 mhz GSM CDMA but now its 1600 1800 2200 ish close to what we use 2400 mhz or 2.4 GHZ which is microwave and cause of this tx transmission n rx is affected ....u wont have any issue using 72mhz or 34mhz if u wanna go that route ...stay away from cell phone towers if ur using 2.4 ghz
Yeah exactly but still never felt that coming from a DMSS tech yet !
do u know if i place a dish faced towards u n fire an electromagnetic wave at 8.8.to 9.4 ghz i can sterilize u :giggle: :giggle: :giggle: :giggle: equipment in airliners can do that ...the weather radar to be specific ...thats y they are never turned on .on ground ...so that u can fullfill the saying 'hum do hamare do '..... :giggle: :giggle: of so jokes apart if thats possible then radio interference at 2.4 ghz is also possible
Hahahah !!! Yeah Right :p
Spectrum 2.4ghz radios have issues! Pl see http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1962793 (http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1962793)
Not just Spektrum, all 2.4G radios are prone to interference from cellphone and especially WiMax LOS towers. The Wimax's have a very narrow lobe, but it's a chakravyuh, entering is easy, exit is not. We've lost three crafts on our field due to these... The transmission power from these towers is way beyond of our Tx's so they takeover easily. Typical behaviors are controls stop responding and craft starts looping/rolling on its own...
PS: We also had an incident with a fourth plane, but very luckily the easystar turned back 180 and flew out of the LOS, returning to safe zone
Faced same problem with FrSky Taranis and Sanwa SD-6G. Now, I always make sure to check for mobile towers before flying. ;)
hi girish
on an unrelated tangent ... do any service providers have wimax apart from bsnl ?
I ain't sure but I think WiMax its only BSNL...Sandeep who flies with us is the expert in this area... in fact we were clueless till he got his arsenal of debugging tools to the field...

Huh?
Stuff like this, if you explain on the RC Boltz thread, may benefit ordinary guys like me (just think, we were only using FIRE to debug our field)
Hahaha... I'll leave sandeeppande to do the explaining on how we were bugged and how he debugged on the boltz thread.
Fire??? I thought aircraft disinfection crop dusting aerial application was an option
Got my heli crashed, no control over my model at range of 100mts. Landed inverted over a terrace. And yes mobile tower was next to it. I am never ever going to fly there again. RIP my 450.
