Hi guys,
I m Ashay , I have been relying on my Turnigy 9X for my RC models but since the last few crashes(due to some range problems) its been pretty clear to me that I need something more reliable than Turnigy. So m opening this topic coz I know there r very experienced persons on this forum who could help me find a perfect radio for me.
My requirements -
-4 channels (enough for my models)
-Price range -10,000-15,000
-no telemetry required
-I just want a range of more or less close to 1 KM ( but should be exact ).

And pls do send me links or contacts of where to get those radios - coz that's the toughest part in India.
Really need ur help Guys
Regards
Ashay

My suggestion is if it is only a range issue that you have an issue then go for a Frsky module on the back of the 9X that you have. You will get it in RCproduct.in.

yes, turnigy modules are total crap, swap it with a frsky module DJT, then you have a radio that is much better than costlier counterparts.!! costs around 4000rs with receiver, and additional receiver costs around 2000!!.
search youtube on how to mod tgy9x with frsky djt module.

Dont compromise on Number of channels. If not 12-16 but tomororw you will surely need 6-7 Channels.

On the cheapest side, Turnigy 9XR Pro "Without" Module and Frsky Modules and Rx is the cheapest option.
Better still push your budget and get a Frsky Teranis , which will serve you for long

what sort of models ? and how did you identify that it was caused by range problems ? did
you crosscheck with multiple receivers ?

any modern radio will have adequate range . Taranis seems to be the current flavour - but
personally I  am not comfortable with the software.

the vanilla 9x software is quite adequate for me - in fact I am running a 9xr with 9x software.

rc bazaar has graupner tx and rcdhamaka has jr tx - they have a good reputation  - however additional
receiver prices are a killer.( no idea of current stock)

as suggested above - easiest is to get a frsky module - you will have sufficient range while still
retaining your 9x.

The first crash I encountered occurred almost 200-250 m away , where the plane didn't turned when I moved the sticks, but there were some high tension lines close-by so I though that it might be due to their interaction with the receiver . So I changed my flying location , the next crash occurred about 400-450 meters away, this time my home made hydro lost control, I though it might be battery problem , but when I reached to pic the model , the battery was intact and the ESC was making (beep-beep-beep) sound, the sound it makes when we connect battery without switching the transmitter on , this confirmed my possibility of range problem . And the recent crash of my friends balsa plane (while he was using my Tx) , was enough for me to throw my Tx for a new one  :( :'( .
