I got my 9XR last week and it is a huge step up from the RCB6i. The programming seems pretty intimidating but I haven't started using it yet. I bought it at 5500 brand new without a module from Protocentral (got the last piece  >:D). I suggest you upgrade to er9x (simpler) or openTx (much more complicated). The stock 9XR firmware is an older, slightly modified version of er9x.  The manual seems very detailed so that might be the best source of help.

I bought it from here: http://www.protocentral.com/quadcopters/803-turnigy-9xr-radio-transmitter-mode-2-jr.html (http://www.protocentral.com/quadcopters/803-turnigy-9xr-radio-transmitter-mode-2-jr.html) It is a Bangalore based store. I got free shipping by FedEx and it came in 2 days flat. It was well packed. Sadly, it is out of stock now since I got the last piece. The module on the website is more expensive than other sources though. The next lowest price I saw for a 9XR was 6800 from RCmumbai. I got a LiFe pack to use with it today from HobbyKing.
@parichya, sorry for hijacking your thread  ;D
