I am using modelart sandstorm. It's servos are used up now and I want to buy a new servo. Can anyone here suggest me which one and from where to buy, which is suitable for my 1:16 RC car. The current servo is 5 wired and Uptill my recent research, I couldn't find 5 wired servo, it has only 3 wires. I can find it at good prices on snapdeal but don't know what to do with the 3 wired while there's 5 wire port in my receiver.
Also if anyone can guide me to but a Rx and Tx set online in India. I saw one for 20$ on nitrorcx but they don't ship it to India😞

Hey, you can easily convert a 3 wire servo to a 5 wire servo if you still have the old servo. All you need to do is find a 3 wire servo of the same size. Hope this helps.

Basically 2 of the wires supply power to the motor and the other 3 go to a position detecting potentiometer inside the servo case.

While I would recommend going to conventional gear such as JR Futaba Hitec etc. You can if you really really want to buy 2 additional Parkzone servos and fit them to Phoenix but long term if you are going to stick with the hobby it is money down the drain.

Yes sir. Basically, a 5 wire servo consists of only mechanical parts. The electronics are built into the receiver. To convert the servo, all you need to do is take the circuit board out of a std 3 wire servo of the same size and you will be left with 5 wires. 2 that connect to the motor and 3 that connect to the pot. The wires will need to be mapped back to the original connector. If OP can provide detailed pictures, I can probably help with the conversion. Hope this helps.

Well, to begin with, are you sure that the servo has gone bad? I mean, since all that a 5 wire servo consists of is a motor and pot, I would suspect that there could be a problem with the rx. Check the resistance on the pot and also check the motor first.

Nope its bad, it makes noise and can turn only when its in air ,on ground, it would just make the noise
