Hello,

1 . I switched on the ESC on my RC car (TC4) and then the radio. The car went crazy! Full throttle all around the house and out of control. I have done this before (receiver on first and then transmitter) on my Brushless XXT without issues. I have done this on the TC4 itself before and after the incident without issues.
Any idea what went wrong?
I am aware that TX should be switched on before the RX. My question is specific to the above case.

2. When RX is on and TX is on with no throttle input (normal behavior) , if i reverse the throttle channel car goes into full throttle. I did not notice this before. It happens irrespective of trim position, expo setting, EPA setting. It happens for all model numbers.

I use a Cougar PS3i 2.4Ghz pistol radio.

Didn't investigate the particular models mentioned... but you need to read up on "failsafe"  in general.

I don't think the Rx Rajat has is equipped with a failsafe.

I remember being freaked out when my car went full throttle after switching it on. I thought I had programmed the ESC but I had re calibrated it such that the neutral point was taken as full throttle :P.

I would attribute it to some sort of interference.

I think we were always told to switch on the Tx and then the Rx always!

There are external failsafe devices available for cars... outside of the functionality of the radios.

As the Captain said... just following the "radio on first" rule is the one to live by !

Yup. I've never had a runaway and don't want one :P

The radio has a fail-safe and it has been setup to avoid runaway. Yet my car ran away :D

Observation II : When TX is on and RX is on if i enable the reverse setting for throttle channel on the TX the model goes full speed ahead.

PS:  I have mentioned in the first post "I am aware that TX should be switched on before the RX. My question is specific to the above case."
