i have a  Turnigy 9x with frsky DJT module...http://hobbysea.com/products.php?373&cPath=49&sid=357562f5245f8cbbbbd06b9ffadfaf1c

can i upgrade the stock antenna to "FrSky 2.4G V8 Series 5db module Antenna"??  http://hobbysea.com/products.php?570&cPath=49&sid=357562f5245f8cbbbbd06b9ffadfaf1c

will i have to use any extra connectors??

if yes then what will the range with the new antenna??

looking for all possible best answers in my case..

Im not sure about the range but i have used a 16db wifi antenna without any issues.
no need for any extra connectors, just unscrew the stock antenna and screw in the new one.
May i know what application are you expecting a better range for?

I believe the stock antenna is ample enough. go for a change only if you couldnt get any usable signal and please mind the limitations of hobby grade equipment.

be aware that your tx output power remains the same!

I found the stock antenna really sluggish :(

I m aware of the limitations of hobby grade equipment...and wont even think about doing any thing stupid as we all are already in a big mess :banghead: :banghead:

if the tx output power remains the same...then I wonder what's the difference between 2db antenna and 5 db antenna...

if  I decide to use the 5db antenna.?  what will be the difference?

Presumably a rock crawler is going to move slowly.....

If you are into DIY try out a Yagi antenna .... This will give you a boost in range

or if you prefer to buy .... then the following is better than a whip

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__20108__2_4Ghz_7DB_Antenna_for_FrSky_Modules_And_compatible_Radios_Modules_.html

be aware that both these are directional ... i.e you have to point in the general direction
of the receiver
