Hi,
Just had a question in mind, i have a walkera 2801pro. However, i have heard people recommending to leave it and move to a Dx6i or futaba. However, i am very comfortable with this present radio and its simple/clean to work with.
Is there still a need? Someone had a bad experience with it?

Well , the 2801 pro is fine if you stick on to micro sized and indoor helis. But when you switch to bigger it doesn't perform that well due to inefficient frequency hopping, range etc... Spektrum and Futaba are reliable brands and when it comes to flying a $1000 bird , it is safer to use a reputed tx rather than using a 2801 pro. It is a low end tx. Also the Devo 10,8s or 12 from walkera are also fine.
Hi Kartik,
When you say its a "Low end tx", what is it lacking? Also, how does it makes a difference if i fly a micro or a 500, the radio if works great on a micro should also work on a 500, right?
Usually Chinese electronics are overrated. The output power that Walkera claims is 100mW but the original rating will be given in the FCC. Lack of power means less range. A 500 sized heli needs a tx with a much better range as it is flown outdoors. Micro sized indoor helis don't need much power. So 2801 pro works good on them. It should also work with the 500 but it is not reliable as it is designed to be used with smaller sized helis.
I guess that people are only saying this because its a chinese product :) and from what i understand from your explaination also is that a futaba or a spektrum gives a better peace of mind. Also, not many people are using this TX.
I guess its time to go shopping ;)
actually dheeraj you have it right - your tx is perfectly fine for larger
helis also ... which are usually flown at closer ranges than aeroplanes.
Thanks for confirming saikat, i was having serious doubts about this debate (the radio is working just fine) and unless i fly the very expensive birds i should not be bothered to spend anything on the TX.
