Takeoff12

Hi,

We welcome you to one of most awaited Technical and Entrepreneurship Festival of the country, sp4mm3r'12 to be organised by IIT Kanpur, from January 27th to 30th 2012. Like every year sp4mm3r'12 is ready with all sorts of exciting Competitions, workshops and exhibitions. Here, students from the various colleges in different technical fields come together to show off their knowledge and skills.

Amongst the plethora of events being organised is Takeoff, for all those knowing about and having a passion for aeromodelling. In Takeoff, we scale new heights, literally, with competitions like Cruise Control, Eagle, Hoverbots, Impulse and Skysparks.

Prizes worth   Rs 1.5 lacs to be won !

New abstract submission deadline : 18 December.

Cruise Control  is our traditional RC Plane flying competition, only for IC engine planes this year. This is for the masters in the art of flying, we'll see you here if you consider yourself one of them.

Eagle is the model presentation event, where you can display your innovative projects to compete for exciting prizes at stake.

Hoverbots is our new endevour, which promises to be one of the nerve wrecking events of sp4mm3r'12. Here we race hovercrafts on specified race tracks to award the winner as it zooms past the finishing line.

Impulse, the water rocket competition gets trickier this time as we scale up the problem statement a bit. One of the most fun events, it will surely leave you missing it once its over.

Skysparks is the branching out of RC plane flying, as we allow just hand made electric planes, to compete in this flying contest. You control your plane like your own body part and the prize money is just at a arm's distance.

Above being a very brief insight to the events, you can get all the details you sure must now be in hurry to know, from the following link:

Can one team use two planes for your event Cruise Control?
As the Gliding and Maneuver rounds suite different types of planes.
A good glider can't do the aerobatics and a good aerobatic plane doesn't glide well.
gliding is the purest form of flying....

As per the rules only one plane is allowed in Cruise Control. Also since the rule applies to all the participants hence there is a fair competition.
