To mark the occasion of JRD Tata's birthday we will be holding an aeromodelling meet at Jamshedpur on Sunday 29th July. This will be at the airport and is open for all.

As part of the air show we are having formation flying, helicopter dance, chocolate drops, baloon bursting and spot Landing display.

There will be Cessna 152s, MD902 heli, King Air B200 and Pilatus PC12 from TataStel Aviation doing the displays.

All are invited.

Cheers

Congratulations and best of luck.

It is shameful that India does not have a single airport named after the so called "Father of Indian Civil Aviation".

Hi all,

we had  a great time on Sunday 29th July. Lots of model plane flying. Great atmosphere. There were at least 5000 people who came to the show. Children, adults all enjoyed the show. Star attractions was the airbus a320, helis and the petrol models.

Some photographs attached.

Cheers

Asutosh,

Wonderful effort! This is what an airshow is all about.

I only wish that this was 2010 or 2011 when erstwhile Wing Co / now Grp Cap Augustine was based at Kalaikunda. He would have added a new dimension to this airshow. Jharkhand's loss is Meghalaya's gain, I guess.

What, in heaven's name is the monstrosity "PC12 - Tata Steel" all about?

All in all - Well done Boss, GREAT effort!

Thanks VC Sir,

Yes, that was a miss on part of Jharkhand. But there is always tomorrow. Next year we are planning on a bigger scale and invite from all over India. We will arrange for more guests stay.

Nothing specific about "PC12". I liked the angle of the shot. Moreover I am a proud member of the Tata Steel Family.

Will post some videos later.
Cheers
