Overview:

DroneTech, a flagship event at Technex'25, the annual techno-management fest of IIT (BHU) Varanasi, scheduled from 28th Feb to 2nd March 2025 offers a thrilling platform for UAV enthusiasts to showcase innovation, precision, and teamwork. Participants will navigate drones through challenging obstacle courses, emphasizing skill and creativity.

Competition Rounds:

Round 1: Navigate a complex obstacle arena, including hoops, tunnels, rotating loops, and more. Scoring is based on points earned for hurdles cleared, with penalties for crashes or touches.
Round 2: Advanced challenges for selected teams. The final problem statement will be revealed on the event day.
Scoring:
Combines hurdle points, time taken, and penalties, with a total score formula for fairness.

Timeline:

Round 1: 28th Feb - 1st March 2025 (offline)
Round 2: 2nd March 2025 (offline)
The schedule is tentative and may be revised.

Rules:

Team Structure
Teams must consist of 1 to 4 members.
Cross-institution teams are allowed.

Model Requirements
Teams must use their own models; swapping is strictly prohibited.
Pre-built frames are allowed, but metal propellers are banned.
Rotor distance must be between 25 cm and 50 cm.

Operational Guidelines
Manual lifting of models is not permitted.
Crashes result in the end of the round unless restarting from a checkpoint is allowed.

Scoring and Penalties
Points deducted for ground touches: -10 per touch.
Teams may skip obstacles but will not earn points for them.
A maximum of 3 attempts per hurdle is allowed.

Time Limits
Time limits for each round will be announced beforehand.

Attempts
Round 1: Maximum of 2 attempts; the shortest time will be considered.
Round 2: Single final attempt allowed.

Tie-Breakers
Ties will be resolved based on the following priorities:
Number of hurdles cleared
Shortest time
Fewest penalties

Modification Rights
Rules or challenges are subject to updates or modifications at any time.

Safety and Disqualification
Unsafe flights or any rule violations may result in disqualification
