On behalf of GD Rajkumar and the Coimbatore Team, I would like to inform all RC racers on the first Coimbatore RC car race. The event will be called Coimbatore RC Challenge and is confirmed for 26th, 27th and 28th August 2011 at the GEDEE driving institute near Eachanari Temple, Coimbatore.

Proposed race Categories:
•   Nitro Buggy
•   Nitro Truggy
•   Nitro Monster truck
•   Electric Open
•   1/5 Baja class (Open to both 2WD and 4WD cars. They will be a separate prize for overall winner)
•   Additional Categories can be added if we have minimum 6 or more cars in the class.

Prize Money
1st Prize – Rs 2500
2nd Prize – Rs 1500
3rd Prize – Rs 1000
New Comer – Fastest – Rs 2500  
Fastest racer on the track – Rs 2500
Overall 1/5 Baja overall winner

Prizes will be given for the additional categories as well.

Practice Time – To be followed strictly

Practice times for each class will be clearly marked. Only cars in that category can practice at that time. This is to avoid damage to others cars. Racers need to cooperate.

PRACTICE TIMES ON 27th WILL BE AS FOLLOWS:

9 AM - 9.45 AM - ELECTRIC PRACTICE, SESSION 1

9.45 AM - 10.30 AM - NITRO BUGGY / TRUGGY PRACTICE

10.30 AM - 11.15 PM - MONSTER TRUCK, SESSION 1

11.15 PM - 12 PM   - 1: 5 BAJA PRACTICE, SESSION 1

12PM TO 12.45PM - ELECTRIC PRACTICE, SESSION 2

12.45 TO 1.30PM - NITRO BUGGY / TRUGGY PRACTICE, SESSION 2

1.30PM TO 2.15PM - MONSTER TRUCK, SESSION 2

2.15PM TO 3.00PM - 1: 5 BAJA PRACTICES, SESSION 2

3PM TO 3.45PM - ELECTRIC PRACTISE, SESSION 3

3.45 TO 4.30PM - NITRO BUGGY / TRUGGY PRACTICE SESSION 3

4.30PM TO 5.15PM - MONSTER TRUCK, SESSION 3

5.15PM TO 6.00PM - 1: 5 BAJA PRACTICE, SESSION 3

6:00PM CLOSE

If any category is not run due to minimum participation requirements, the practice time will be increased correspondingly.

Participation fee
Rs. 1000 per category
Rs. 500 for every additional category
Max.fee will be Rs.2500 for unlimited categories

Participation fee for students (valid with a current student ID)
Rs 750 per category
Rs 500 for every additional category
Max fee will be Rs 2000 for unlimited categories

Race Timing

Race will be timed using AMB race equipment. We will advise if personal transponders can be used.

Car Technical Inspection

All cars will be subject to technical inspection by a panel appointed by organisers. Will provide more information on this soon. So, please leave your driving aids/dual tanks etc back home.

Facilities

Mobile toilet with hand wash facility for men & women
Catering facility (veg / non veg / water / cool drinks / snacks etc..) at actual cost to be paid by participants. On sunday (race day) lunch will be included for participants only
Speaker & Mike system
Lighting facility - 20 Kva DG will be installed
Transportation facility for the participants from hotel to track and return will be provided on Saturday and Sunday only. On Friday transportation will be provided on request for participants and their cars at actual cost
Security arrangements
hotel bookings if requested by participants can be arranged

With regards to hotels please send us your budget range. We plan to select only 2 ranges, one low budget and one high budget, so that only 2 buses can be arranged for pickup and drop.

OMG awesome....and the race co-incides with the dates of my college fest..should my parents allow,I'm going to come for sure!!

If possible,can we have video footage of every race?It would leave no room for any disputes.Also,please upload all the footage on YT.Any plans of having a media presence(visual,written...)?

I agree with Divyam.We don't race for money.We race for the fun.

@Rajesh:A comment like that is not a very good one.Also,avoid the usage of SMS language.Keep in mind that the organizers spend a lot of money to make all of this work.Please be appreciative of their efforts.We have no idea of the amount of work that goes into organizing an event of such magnitude......again,edit your post!

Prize money can be increased provided we get major sponsors. This is money is shelled out by the organizer apart for the expenses incurred for making a pro level track, concrete driver stand, AMB timing equipment, Working tables & chairs for drivers, organizing Logistics, Trophies etc etc.. The prize money quoted is the max we can offer and there will be no changes. Please do notice we are giving price money for fastest man on track and for the Fastest new comer..This has never been done before in any races held so far in India.. Win in all the category & set the fastest time, you will be a rich man end of the day
