Runway details

Flying site is located in campus of CK Pithawalla college of Engineering near Surat. It is 18 km from railway station and 3 km from the airport. The area has clear flying vicinity, with 800mt length x 60mt width area of Tarmac.

Awards :
The competition flying sessions shall be judged by appointed committees based on which, awards will be given for best performance in following categories:

       1) Best performance fixed wing – Expert (1st & 2nd)
       2) Best performance fixed wing -  Intermediate ( 1st , 2nd & 3rd)
       3) Best performance fixed wing  - Beginners (1st, 2nd & 3rd)
       4) Helicopters – 1st & 2nd
       5) Junior Pilot – below 15yrs of age  (fixed wing / helis 1st,2nd &3rd)
       6) Best performance Jets – single prize
       7) Most spectacular crash of the meet.

Award Distribution ceremony will be held on the evening of 20th November 2010, followed by dinner.

The fees you mentioned are for participation or entry fee for everyone ?? For example, I dont want to participate in the competition as my Heli is not ready yet, but I'd surely like to see people fly and meet you and other guys out there.....I'll be visiting only on Sunday with my wife, in that case what is the fees ?

Fees mentioned here are just the participation fees.
We have not yet decided on the entry fees but it would be approx Rs.50 or Rs.100.
If you are planing to visit then I would prefer satuday as the event would be on it's peak.  Sunday we are closing little early compare to rest of the days.

Looks like it will be a well organized gathering.  Now we have meets in Chennai and Gujarat, in addition to Wings India.

Last year around 6000 people have enjoyed this spectacular event.  This time we are expecting even more crowd.
We are welcoming all enthusiastic of aeromodelling. So, don't bother about what you fly and how you fly....just come here and you'll have great time these three days. {:)}

Sure Chintan, I'll try and make it on Saturday....how far is this place from Ghod-dod road, Havent seen much of surat but one of my cousins lives in the Ghod-dod area....

Looking forward to the event....Will there be any Expo kindda thing as well ? I mean showcasing and sales of RC Stuff at the Venue ??

Runway is around 8-10 km from the ghod-dod road...
As of now we are not planning for any expo from hobby store in large scale..but BeyondToyz may setup small desk for necessary stuff..

You can do both precision flying as well as 3D flying...

Hmm....I think all the LHS should have their stalls / counters at such events which will enable them attract new customers....there are lots of people out there who are interested in such hobbies but it takes a back seat as they think, they cannot get these birds in India....

Chintan, do you want me to put-up a poster for this event at the Faculty of Technology and Engineering at MS University in Baroda ?

I'll take a print of it and have it put-up at the notice board there, if you want....I know some faculties there as I did my BE from there....
