Hi Guys,
Just landed from Singapore today morning. Been there to attend the Radio Controlled Scale 2009 Competition held by the Potong Pasir Club in Singapore. Capt. Velraj from Chennai participated with his fully detailed Tiger Moth and won first prize in static display in the Master Scale category. There were a lot of fully detailed scale airplanes and helis on the field. Unluckily, the winds were very gusty and strong and we had to witness a few crashes on the second day of flying. In fact, our very own Tiger Moth from India also was prey to the extreme conditions as the wings folded mid air!! Tough Luck!! So we made ourselves content as the Static Display Winners!!
I had also bought a fancy torque starter from Align! It runs from a 3s Lipo and hence is cordless and extremely light!! Check out the link below. It is basically a heli starter but I also have the airplane starting unit for it! It is a geared unit and can start upto a 50cc Gasser :)!

Congrats Chan and others :thumbsup:
All new starters at our field are also the Align ones. Going to get one myself ;)
Congrats to Capt Velraj winning an award in the very first international event he participated in and to all those who went along to boost his morale {:)} {:)}
Anwar this is a big thing in our RC world here please make it a separate thread rather than being a part of the weeks activities.

Congrats to Captain Velraj and all the team members who participated. This is really a great happenning for India and it does us proud.
Wish we could have something like this in India... A meet with a little bit of fun and competition in a small way to get ourselves used to the concept and kick start a yearly event.
Probably at some place like Ajith's airfield, if he does not mind hosting the competition

Exactly and also hopefully will improve the PR for this hobby.
Absolutely fantastic news! All praise to Captain Velraj. Regret that he had a mishap. Hope the plane wasn't written off.
I agree with the idea of an Indian meet. Not very easy to organise but possible if we all work at it. Let's bounce this around and see what comes up, especially the venue.

Many here fly with the uncomfortable truth of the legality of this hobby. Why not take the stage of the sp4mm3r and raise the concerns to the authorities. I guess the Professors at IITs should be ready to help us reach to revolutionary Education/Sport ministers.
I know it would like putting hand in a bee hive.
May be the Seniors who have spent 10's of years in this hobby are the right person to take the lead that we rookies spoiling the entire RC scene in the country. Its more ignorance of the authority that we have so many issues. If they teach that at NCC, why can't grown ups do on their own!!

Better left as questions looking for answers to such things is better left to the good old saying :
"" Cross the bridge when you come to it """ ;) ;D
Ujjwal ,
Don't mind my saying it but please post in the thread what is relevant this thread is for appreciating Capt's Win . so it would be better to have matters related to that here.
