Be warned, all. The DGCA has taken a U turn, and are now insisting ALL model airplanes have also to be registered

Sir,

I have mailed them today as only seven days left & their reply confirms the same. specifically mentioned 250 gram to see if there is an exclusion. They are categorising everything as drone. Also they clearly mentioned "Possession of an OAN or DAN does NOT confer the right to operate the drone in India"

Registered! Its more of a census like thing, whatever you don't have (serial no.,flight controller no.,etc. just give NA. Post images with a physical scale as mentioned on the website. There is no scrutiny of applications whatsoever.(as of now)

I have also registered. We plane flyers always play safe,we never flown over crowd, never photographed any body and I personally never faced any problems from police. Now I will display the DAN over my plane and will fly from my usual remote area as I was doing from last 15 yrs.

An instrument can never cause harm its the human who is responsible. As per my understanding there will be no more official work for the hobbyist. As we are now registered if something bad happens authority can always identify and penalise us.......as its being done with our cars for decades. There is nothing wrong in it.

There are people who buy some cheap/expensive chinese quadcopter and without any experience fly and crash over someone else's house.....and cause problem for all of us.

Don't get me wrong:I like DJI quadcopter(never owned or flown) and their digital fpv gears purely from their technological perspective. I am an arduplane guy and love building and occasional test flying.
