VECTOR 2011 - THE BIGGEST EVER AEROMODELLING CAMP IN INDIA


The Assam Valley School, situated near Tezpur, is going to be the venue of the biggest ever Aeromodelling Camp in India. The camp commences 6th. Sept. 2011 and concludes on 30th. Sept. 2011.

During this period, a total of 674 students of Assam Valley School will participate in an Aeromodelling Camp, Vector 2011, at the school premises.

The students have been grouped into the following categories:

Pre Class 4 students.
Students of Classes 4 and 5.
Students of Classes 6, 7 & 8.
Students of Classes 9 and above.

Each group of students will undergo (with varying difficulty levels) a balsa chuck glider and catapult glider building, trimming and flying workshop. Audio visual aids shall be used to explain the finer nuances of Aeromodelling.

Some of the gliders being used to train the students (each student from Class 6 upwards, gets an individual Aeromodelling Kit comprising 3 gliders):

Spitfire Chuck Glider, Kadet Glider, Follow Me Glider, Flying Bird Glider, Polaris (20 inch span) Advanced Glider.

In the meanwhile, a group of 30 worthy/interested students (from the senior classes) shall be initiated into extensive simulator training to prepare them for RC flying. Each student shall have a mandate to fulfill for the number of 'flying hours' and successful take offs and landings.

This group will later undertake the assembly of 5 ARF RC gliders / high wing trainers and will also build 2 beginners Coroplast SPAD models from plans. They will also attempt to fly a rather large Co Ax GT 8005 Heli. The Heli is planned to be equipped with a Key Chain Camera to add further excitement!

The students will also try their hands at flying kites on Viswakarma Puja  on 17th. Sept.

The event shall culminate in a gala Air Show slated for the 30th. of Sept. 2011.


The aim of this workshop is to cultivate a few youngsters who will, in later years, take up this wonderful hobby and pursue it with passion.

Yes my friend, it is the biggest project that I've ever undertaken in this field. As far as 'destiny' is concerned, I wouldn't like to bring that in now and talk about it here. Let us forget all that bitterness. After all, we won and they (you know who I mean) lost. That is all that matters!

even WWW.RCHOBBYADDICT.COM does not have the amount of items that you will be using in just one aeromodelling camp...

Hee Hee, it IS a HUGE inventory ! My car, which will be at the venue,  will have a prominent sticker of www.rchobbyaddict.com. Designing it now, should be ready and in place by Thursday. Will post pictures.

This thought of sponsorship had not crossed my mind before.

However, before we venture any further with this thought, the school has notified me that any blatant commercial advertising (banners, posters etc) will not be allowed. As your students could not be cheated/robbed in future, you can give a fair idea of price, quality, selction and postage, customs hastle etc. then use some screenshots of our beloved sites of VK, Sai, Anam etc.

That is fully logical and must not brake the rule.
