VECTOR 2011 - THE BIGGEST EVER AEROMODELLING CAMP IN INDIA
The Assam Valley School, situated near Tezpur, is going to be the venue of the biggest ever Aeromodelling Camp in India. The camp commences 6th. Sept. 2011 and concludes on 30th. Sept. 2011.
During this period, a total of 674 students of Assam Valley School will participate in an Aeromodelling Camp, Vector 2011, at the school premises.
The students have been grouped into the following categories:
Pre Class 4 students.
Students of Classes 4 and 5.
Students of Classes 6, 7 & 8.
Students of Classes 9 and above.
Each group of students will undergo (with varying difficulty levels) a balsa chuck glider and catapult glider building, trimming and flying workshop. Audio visual aids shall be used to explain the finer nuances of Aeromodelling.
Some of the gliders being used to train the students (each student from Class 6 upwards, gets an individual Aeromodelling Kit comprising 3 gliders):
Spitfire Chuck Glider, Kadet Glider, Follow Me Glider, Flying Bird Glider, Polaris (20 inch span) Advanced Glider.
In the meanwhile, a group of 30 worthy/interested students (from the senior classes) shall be initiated into extensive simulator training to prepare them for RC flying. Each student shall have a mandate to fulfill for the number of 'flying hours' and successful take offs and landings.
This group will later undertake the assembly of 5 ARF RC gliders / high wing trainers and will also build 2 beginners Coroplast SPAD models from plans. They will also attempt to fly a rather large Co Ax GT 8005 Heli. The Heli is planned to be equipped with a Key Chain Camera to add further excitement!
The students will also try their hands at flying kites on Viswakarma Puja on 17th. Sept.
The event shall culminate in a gala Air Show slated for the 30th. of Sept. 2011.
The aim of this workshop is to cultivate a few youngsters who will, in later years, take up this wonderful hobby and pursue it with passion.
I would like to thank (in no particular order) a few people (my Team) associated with www.rcindia.org, without whose invaluable help and support this mega event would not have been possible.
Anam, my dear friend and HUGE support mechanism from rchobbyaddict.com
V.K.Singh from rcelectro.com
Sai Sir from rcforall
Amit @ Hellyflyer
Lt.Col. Sundaram @ Sundaramvelar – My partner, Co - Instructor for the event, my Mentor and Guide.
And last, but by no means the least –
I would also like to thank Anwar Sahab for bringing this whole team together.
Thank you Team ; let's hope we can pull this one off!
You've been preparing from a month for this... You have put in a lot of hard work.. It will be a success... Thank you for making me a part of it...
Thank you for being there with me and catering to all my irresponsible demands and showing me solutions instead of problems.
Hey Thanks VC,
I am glad to be a part of this Team
Hellyflyer
Hey Amit, we couldn't have done it without you. Now you know what the Camo Kite and the GT 8005 was intended for! :hatsoff:
This is a huge huge huge project... It's all destiny sir... Brief the forum a little more about it, if it's OK... :)
Yes my friend, it is the biggest project that I've ever undertaken in this field. As far as 'destiny' is concerned, I wouldn't like to bring that in now and talk about it here. Let us forget all that bitterness. After all, we won and they (you know who I mean) lost. That is all that matters!
even WWW.RCHOBBYADDICT.COM does not have the amount of items that you will be using in just one aeromodelling camp... :):)
You will be carrying an LHS with you... :)
Hee Hee, it IS a HUGE inventory ;D! My car, which will be at the venue, will have a prominent sticker of www.rchobbyaddict.com. Designing it now, should be ready and in place by Thursday. Will post pictures.
Thank you sir...:):) Thank you... I like the name... VECTOR...
WWW.rcindia.org sticker is already in place. Designing the stickers for rchobbyaddict, rcelectro, rcforall.
All should be in place before I reach the venue on 6th.Sept. Will post pictures. Would request V.K. and Sai Sir, to permit me, if I can include their cell numbers on the stickers.
The vector 2011 Logo. The 4 Directional Arrows represent Thrust, Lift, Weight and Drag.
Very innovative concept of a logo... Nice work VC Sir...
Partner Ah!! ;) Thanks VC. Its all your dedicated effort in putting together this mega event. Kudos to you. All the very best. {:)}
our contribution is only minimal in terms assistance, guidance and largely moral support 8-). Its all your great achievement and show.
Nice One VC .
Let me know if you need logistical support.
VC Bhaiya, is the airshow open to spectators from Kolkata. :giggle: If so, then I'll drop by on the day.
Great initiative sir {:)}. Wonder why nothing like this was done when I was in school :(
All the best VC dont know what I did to deserve a mention
Sent you a PM
sai
Thanks everybody for your good wishes.
Sai sir, thanks for the kind offer. Replying to your PM shortly.
Saikat, yours was one of the first names that came to my mind and I tried contacting you over the phone but just could not get through. My mistake, I should've sent you a PM. Your help in terms of logistics will be invaluable. You are also more than welcome to visit the venue and inspire the youngsters and share your vast knowledge on the subject. I am PMing you the exact schedule.
Regards.
To all the members who have very kindly wished to support / sponsor a part of this event - firstly a very big Thank you!
This thought of sponsorship had not crossed my mind before.
However, before we venture any further with this thought, the school has notified me that any blatant commercial advertising (banners, posters etc) will not be allowed. Keeping that in mind, if you still wish to sponsor some prizes, do PM me. If your logo is printed on the prize, I don't think it would cause any problems.
Thanks again.
I thought I would share the pictures of a few of the models that have been bought for the students to hone their RC skills. Here they are................
Some more........
All the best VC.
VC,
As your students could not be cheated/robbed in future, you can give a fair idea of price, quality, selction and postage, customs hastle etc. then use some screenshots of our beloved sites of VK, Sai, Anam etc.
That is fully logical and must not brake the rule.
Hope you come back in Kolkata. ;)
Don't worry Kalyan Da, very shortly VC bhaiya will be here in Kolkata.
Rohit, are you planning an event which requires my presence in Kolkata? ???
I would be delighted! ;D
Kalyan, I will certainly keep your advice in mind.
Wish you a grand success and hope it will usher a new era in the field of aero modelling in India and specially Northeast
Hi everybody! I'm having a blast with the kids at AVS. The people here are extremely warm and friendly. The students are enthusiastic! Waiting for Sandy to join me soon. Will keep you updated with pictures soon.
Cheers!

Dear Fellow Aero-Modelers,
I had promised VC that on the way to Tawang on my Official Visit, I will take three days leave and stay with him in Tezpur to help him ( I am sure VC requires very less of it) with Simulators and RC Flying. However last min bolt from the blue

As part of Air Force Day Celebrations, there will be a RC Meet at Shillong.
Venue :- Ground Next to Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium
Date :- 02 Oct 2011
I have been officially requested to Organize the show along with Gusty, since we are the only two RC guys here in Shillong. Now because of the official request from the top man himself, My official visit is cancelled and even my leave is also cancelled. I am in a fix and stuck badly, feeling very bad for VC.
I have tried requesting Flight Lieutenant Sravan from Tezpur another Pilot and aeromodeller from Tezpur to Help VC, but unfortunately he is also operationally committed with his real birds in Kolkata till First Week October.
I am unable to find any solutions for VC.
This is a Humble request from my side to all forum members. Any one in a position to Help VC with some amount of simulator training and flying his models Please help him else he might even have to cancel his complete camp.
Regards
Sandy

Sandy,
Recovered sravan from kalaikunda,he has gone and helped out VC.
I believe show went off well. Thank god for that.!!
Thanks Very much Gusty.
Sravan is such a swell guy he was such a helping hand in our show too here in shillong which is something which I will surely miss eternally. Thanks Sravan.
"This breed of sweet guys is fast disappearing now a days. You find guys who only expect help and do not reciprocate."
Congrats to you VC heard the show went off well. Expecting good photos and pictures.
Spread out over 95 Hectares, Assam Valley School is a sylvan paradise. Beautifully maintained by the authorities, this school can give its European counterparts a run for their money. I reached there on 7th Sept 2011 and the workshop commenced the next day. First up - the students of classes 3 - 5 who made origami paper planes and then flew Balsa Spitfires.
First some boring theory classes and then on to the beautiful pavilion for the practical workshops!
For the record, 658 participants took part in this Aeromodelling Camp which was spread out over 22 days. This, probably, makes it the largest Aeromodelling camp organised anywhere, ever, in South East Asia. Anyone care to clarify?
With some pretty Colombian Teachers adding zest to the proceedings.............
Disciplined and Euphoric displays!
For the students of Class 6 the Cadet Glider was a challenge that they overcame with flying colours. In spite of having to use CA for the first time in their lives!
Pretty faces............
Will keep updating this thread. Lots more to follow.......................
Great Show there and fantastic Effort VC Kudos {:)} {:)} {:)}

Beautiful picture
Thanks! I have many more pictures to post but I guess they will have to wait for another day...............
Well done VC bhaiya! Wonderful show!!
Thanks!
Some of the children displayed an indomitable spirit. Even broken hands and asthmatic difficulties could not deter them.
Getting the dihedral just right was a BIG challenge.
Broken and waiting for repairs.
Exuberance!!!
On 17th and 18th Sept, I spent some time with Saikat at his palace at Dufflagarh T.E. Wonderful experience and very warm hospitality.
Here are some of Saikat's scratchbuilt beauties. He is a classic aeromodeller. One of the last few left.
At the Arunachal Pradesh border. Picture postcard perfect!
VC great pics and an awesome initiative..
It felt so nice to see so many smiling faces..
Keep up the good work !
:goodjob:
A real pleasure to see something like this
Thanks all. At the cost of being boring and repetitive - more to follow.
Thanks VC for posting the pictures. Is that Saikat-da in Orange tee shirt ?
Yes it is!
Gr8 pics Vc. Was it philanthropic act, or you charged some money for this chuck glider camp? Answer only if you want to share, will help others experienced chuck glider pilots to conduct their camp.
Ps
For a chuck glider camp of this volume and number of days charges could be hefty, looking at your tremoundous effort of origami and chuck glider coaching ( I understand there was some RC (ARF) element in it, as sharavan told me since there were no y cables and other small stuff, none of the RC were ready and sharavan had to fly his models)
My question is only for educational purpose for those who want to start a camp like this,
Edit
The smiles on childrens face etc is made out to be some philanthropic act of selflessness. It is was probably a business venture. That should have come loud and clear. That's what I wanted the members to know, I think the whole thread is inappropriate, I object to the tone and tenor of the thread. What is the problem in saying In saying with pride "the charges were x amount and in the process spread some happiness too" I don't know.
For admin
Anwar bhai, please look at in the light of tryin to paint a picture of selfless all free camp, fact of the matter is t was not, aren't the forum members entitled to know the truth?
The topic name "biggest, highest, everest ever ................ in India" not at all convincing the act. These Chuck gliders are available @ Rs. 30/- ~ Rs. 50/-. I don't know how much is charged.
If a person like him who does n't know how to hold a 4 ch. remote and basics of aeromodelling can conduct such shows; why can't we? Only if " apna sapna money money"
Gusty - ;)
Maharana - :salute:
Replies #52 and #53 have been reported to me as inappropriate. As the admin, I am forced to comment :(
On #52, I request the OP to remove the part requesting and/or suggesting financial details. It can easily be inferred that such events materialize after negotiations on financial aspects, so these financial matters are at best "case by case". Unless there is a complaint that there is overcharging from any affected party, we are better off without discussions along these lines.
On #53, the language is entirely inappropriate. If there is question about this being the "biggest ever" such event, please post details of other events that are bigger. There are no marks for guessing. The second part of this post is entirely personal. No one asked for or questioned the qualifications of the person conducting the event, so the comment is entirely out of place. Again, it would be appropriate to host such an event, and then comment... or at least point out specifically what was WRONG with the event that happened.
I request both posts to be amended at the earliest. Let us keep this forum sane.
Post 52
I have said it clearly, share it only if you want to Vc, you say it was free of cost , or you incurred loss, we will believe you. All the best
I just read the updates made to Reply #52. Gusty has a valid point, that it needs to be clarified that this is a commercial activity, at the same time, there is no need to discuss specific amounts, unless there is either a complaint of charging too much, or it is voluntarily disclosed. At the least, such discussion may be conducted in a separate thread.
A sentence like "Since it is unclear in this thread so far, it is good to clarify that the conduct of this camp was a commercial undertaking" would have been enough, instead of people having to divulge exact financial details of such rare events, where negotiations are the key. I hope you get my point.
Anwar
Got the point, removing the cash flow part
First Of all I think all this discussion is quite uncalled for , How does it concern anybody if it was or was not a commercial activity on the forum.
If some of the members have had some issue with the organizer by it being a commercial activity on which they might have lost out in someway it is a matter they should be resolving between themselves and not on the forum.
If there is no such axe to grind then really no one should be bothered by the activity being commercial or not and stating eitherway would not reduce the scale and the magnitude of the event.
All I can say based on my experience in organizing events is that to organize an event of this magnitude with such a diverse age group requires certain special abilities so my :hatsoff: to VC .
Sai
+1 rcforall. What I am tired of is people settling scores in public, then claiming "this forum is going down the drain" :banghead:
I have said this before... it takes about $10 per month to rent a hosting account, and pretty much anyone can afford it !

If a person like him who does n't know how to hold a 4 ch. remote and basics of aeromodelling can conduct such shows; why can't we? Only if " apna sapna money money"
Not all aero modeling is RC there are other forms also like Control line , free flight , paper planes etc , these are also model air planes and building them involves much more skill than RC Planes . Unpowered flight requires far more precision in build than powered flight to achieve good results . Actually the word unpowered itself is wrong :headscratch: but in the absence of a better word I have used it to denote lack of a on board power source. Even a chuck glider is actually a powered flight where the power for flight is provided by the chuck.
From a small little paper plane to the mighty Antnov or A 380 the principals and science of flight are basically the same it is only the scale which varies .
So let us not confuse with these wrong notions that aero modeling means only RC
Aero-modeling is a big subject; starting from Paper plane to Fighter aircraft. And if the announcement is "biggest ever aeromodelling camp; the expectations are bit high. Otherwise he should have mentioned the event by Paper plane / chuck gliders / rc etc. etc.
And about the commercial part I can conduct such "chuck glider shows" for Rs. 35,000/- including couple of ARFs and I will.
if I am wrong then apologize for my mistake.
It is not about commercial or not , it is the picture one paints, biggest largest this side of suez etc, we conducted a aeromodelling camp in medinipur dist , 17 schools participated , 1658 students including from IIT, came over, by no Stretch of imagination I will call it the biggest, it is sending wrong message to people who are reading it, he could be my friend, but I can't see this wrong info being posted, using special children to show stuff and gain some kind of sympathy wave is indulging in cheap popularity is not something that should be done, I am writing this for the love of the forum and hobby,
Anwar bhai
All posts that were edited did not serve the true purpose of fairness. Having said that, I agree with your findings and recommendations and whatever you do will stand by that, no questions whatsoever, forum members are dealing with some dubious people, some easy to spot some very difficult to catch. I have tried to bring out facts to keep the aspect of Free will and fairness.

I personally am aware of one such person, who aims to gross Rs.3.5 lakhs + in the month of Sept 2011 by conducting Aeromodelling classes at a single location in India.
Why the big deal objection about the amount now?
It was a mega event in terms of amount as well as in the scale it was aimed at, no doubt on that. I am sure VC will be elucidating to us vividly how he has gone about achieving this mega target.
Gusty ,
With due respects your event is a great effort as well now that you have said it but it does not mean another persons individual event and effort should not be appreciated for its effort not all fingers are alike, so not necessary that all will keep quite like you did after organizing a huge event .
The word biggest ever etc has been there from the first post which was sometime in August so don't know why these words are an issue now after the event .
Coming to the commercial aspect one thing should be clarified that this forum is as open to us commercial persons as it is to hobbyists that is why it is where it is today unlike the other so called forum. So let us not get to self righteous about some one making money .
Maharana ,
The amount is a relative factor dependent on many factors and I would say neither you nor me nor anyone on the forum has any right to put a price on a another persons effort and event in which you have not been involved , in all fairness the deal is between the buyer and the seller . The seller perceived value for money in it so agreed to the price. Anyone elses perception could be different that is why there are so many branded , un branded products in the market for any kind of product or service.
I strongly feel that this forum should not be used for judging people and passing loose personal comments implied or otherwise on individuals and settling scores which seems to be the case here.
Sai
Somehow this thread seems to have drifted from the original direction. Maharana's language is offensive to say the least, but then I would also point finger at Augustinev for starting it all.
However, I see the pictures of young ones with a smile on their face and to me that is all this initiative is all about - commercial be dammed.....
I still don't understand whats wrong in asking money for ones services. I never assumed he was doing it for free. And people offering the same service for less should get in touch with customers instead of picking fights with "competitors". Heck I hope he gets twice the money for his next event
By all means twice ? Tens times, why not? Paint the right picture, that is important. Sai Anna , 100% with you, I have read all your posts even before joining the forum, no LHS makes bones about making profit on it, why should anyone do it, it will mislead people. Thats my point,
Biggest largest , etc are claims, for the claims to be claimed as reality doesn't take time,
This airshow we did( on diktat from the generals) were subsidized, free entry, and sandy and I paid from our pockets, aim was to promote te hobby. Still we decided to keep it a low key, lest we be misconstrued.
For all and sundry, I didn't start the air fest 2011 at Shillong , at the same time as the biggest camp and aimed to sabotage it, as alleged by some people. I hope you guys are getting the drift.
? I am furious because of that. To put the matters straight. ( I haven't taken any names here)
Hey, hey hey..
If I have to conduct any workshop, it may be like this.
Assumptions + Analysis :
1. Persons participated = 50
2. Transportation from home to site & back home = Rs.1400/- (14 hour@100/hour).
3. Extra Kit = 4%
4. Gliders kit required = 52 Nos @ 82/-= 4264/-
5. Lunch = 80 meals @ Rs.60/- = 4800/-
6. Gift = 1200/-
7. Hiring Charges for Amplifier/Chair = Lumsum @600/-
-------------------------------------------------------
Total 12264/-
Per student = 245/- + without any profit
and there are other expenditure as mentioned in No of meals, Tips, etc.etc.
And which I not consider is my hiring cost taking one holiday. It may be neglected if it is for 1 day but have to be taken into account if for 2 business day even.
So, a Rs.300/- may be a fair idea for a one day program. But Some profitable programmers take Rs.350/-+ per student and with 4 Student/kit. and even sells foam gliders @ Rs.350/-
========================================================
How funny Analysis.
At least I will prefer buying a 80/- Rs. kit + Postage 60/- than my workshop and recommend others..
How funny my behavior also.
I left the camera download cord behind at AVS. Just returned from a studio after downloading the rest of the pics from the memory card.
Senior students at work on the Follow Me Glider.
On to the picturesque Namdang Greens for testing.
In the second and third photographs, the boy in the yellow T Shirt, Snehangshu, was adjudged the best aeromodeller of the event and received a grand prize. More on that later. His diligence and dedication was truly admirable.
Photo no. 3 (DSCN0870.jpg) is a personal favourite.
Once the Glider workshops had concluded, we embarked upon the assembly of the ARF RC Models.
1. The Kinetic 800
2. Mr. Huidrom, a wonderful teacher who I befriended there, proved to be a very keen learner. He experiments with the Pearl Glider Kit.
3. Snehangshu instructs his team as they begin work on the GWS Slowstick. Mr. Sai, thanks for making delivery at such a short notice.
4. One down! Kinetic 800 is assembled.
1. The Phoenix Glider is ready.
2. Testing the GT 8005 Heli.
3. A view of the Physics lab. The designated venue for the RC workshop.
4. Snehangshu at work on the Slowstick.
Nice pics VC
Thanks Buddy! Here are the rest.
The big day was finally here. 30th. Sept. 2011.
1. All models lined up and waiting for the Chief Guest to arrive.
2. First up, the junior most Aviators fly their Balsa Spitfires.
3 & 4.Talk about a 'Full House'! ;D
1. Classic shot of a Flying Bird Glider launch
2. A Follow Me Glider in flight
3. Saikat's masterpiece - a scratchbuilt chuck undergoes field repairs. I treasure this model.
4. The Polaris - a 50 cm span giant.
1. The Polaris in flight
2. The GT 5889 Heli
3. With my limited RC experience, I took the 5889 to quite a good height. Great stuff Amit / Hellyflyer! Thanks!
4. Once it had landed and the battery ran down, it was used as a fan to cool down the younglings on this exceptionally hot and humid evening. They loved it!
P.S. Wing Cmdr. Augustine had presented me this Squadron Cap (Tezpur Air Base) on a recent visit to Shillong and I wore it with a lot of pride.
1. Most of them didn't fly but they did look beautiful proved to be a crowd puller. We were given a total
of 2 hours for the entire show. Gliders, Speeches, RC Flying, Vote of Thanks, Prize distribution
ceremony et al. The models purchased by AVS could not be made airworthy due to many reasons.
Primarily due to the fact that, due to unforeseen circumstances, only a total of 10 hours were allotted
to the assembly and testing of the 7 Aircraft and 1 Heli model. It proved to be woefully inadequate.
2. A moment of humour before the Real Star takes centre stage.
3. A panoramic view.
4. The star of the show - Flt. Lt. Sravan Kumar. a Su 30 Pilot, yet a humble, down to earth individual with
whom I bonded instantly. He put his heart into the show and I was very comfortable playing second
fiddle to him. Thanks Buddy! :salute:
Note the colour of Sravan's shirt and see what it is transformed into at the end of the show. You will realise the trying conditions in which he had to put in his best performance.
1. The Merlin takes flight
2. Beautiful flight behaviour
3. A section of the mesmerised audience. most of them had never seen a RC model in flight.
4. A very sporting Flt. Lt. gathers up his crashed Merlin and puts it behind him.
1. "Why are we wasting our time with Chuck / Catapult gliders? ??? We should be flying those!" Two rising
stars.
2. The Blue Angels Scratchbuilt Trainer by Sravan takes to the air.
3. Fantastic flyer.
4. Sravan and his personal Slow stick.
1. The Slow Stick in flight
2. This shot capture the spirit. Mr. Rai, Director Physical Education - AVS, launches a Spitfire. I love this
picture and IMHO, it is the best shot in the entire series.
3. Getting the F 16 ready to fly. All thanks to Sravan who spent a long time experimenting with it.
4. Sravan teaches me how to launch her. I don't know who was more nervous.
1. The F - 16 flies
2. She proved to be underpowered. All of Sravan's expertise and efforts could not keep her airborne for
too long. Atleast she flew. Upgrading the motor now.
3. "Don't worry, one day you will fly like that."
4. Sravan's Slow Stick with LED lights. It was spectacular.
Coming to the end of the show.
1. Hriday, adjudged the Best RC modeller due to his knowledge of Tx/Rx workings and servos ( he is very
clued up on Robotics) gets a prize sponsored by Mr. Sai and this is announced over the PA system. It
contains a set of books on Aviation and an EPP Yak 54 ARF kit. Thanks a million Sir. That was a very
kind gesture on your part. I am sure that the authorities of AVS have contacted you by now and
thanked you for this. Mr. Sai had also sent across a big lot of paper gliders that are ideal for teaching
the very basics of flight to youngsters. For some reason (paucity of time, perhaps) they were not
handed out to the younglings. Maybe the authorities at AVS are storing them for better, more
productive use. Thanks Mr. Sai for your efforts and kindness.
2. Snehangshu, adjudged the Best Aeromodeller gets the same + a set of 5 different Balsa Gliders.
3. Oh my God! It is finally over. Time to go home.
4. 4th from left (in a white T Shirt) Sqdn. Leader Abhinandan, a beautiful Flying Officer ( I didn't quite
catch her name - she is an Air Controller), Flt. Lt. Sravan, a lady Wing Cmdr. whose name I can't
recall.
Extremely gracious of this illustrious team to have graced this occasion. Grateful to each one of them.
P.s. Check out the colour of Sravan's shirt in the last photo. You will know what he had to undergo.
All those chuck gliders look fabulous! :)
That is one massive 3ch heli you have there. Nice pics :)
Thanks Rajath. You should have seen the one made by Saikat. Maestro. I have kept it locked away. Carbon fibre rod fuselage and CF embedded into the empennage and FG strings embedded into the wing leading edges. Keeps flying and circling like there is no tomorrow. Will post photos in details once I have his permission. I won't part with it even if someone gives me a 6 Ch RTF in exchange.
Here is a snap of the GT 8005 Heli in flight.
1. Onkar who took most of the photographs on 30th Sept.
2. Back to the hangar. Is there a tinge of sadness on those faces, or am I imagining it? ???
3. Mr. Chandresh Shah (Director of Activities AVS), Mrs. Singh (Deputy Head Mistress AVS), Mr. Rai (Director Physical Education AVS) without their help and support this entire venture would not have been possible.
4. The beautiful and intelligent Flying Officer, Sravan's protege and the star himself.
All is well that ends well.
Vector 2011 successfully concluded.
That's all for now. Thanks for following this thread.
:hatsoff: :hatsoff: :hatsoff:
No words can describe the experience {:)}
No body but you could have pulled it off at this scale ....VC a job wel done :hatsoff:
This is a gud event no doubt..
But advanced planes would have been pretty kool..Mr.Shravan..we know you mate..ask him if he has been to pancard :D
great stuff..keep up the good work..
Grate Photos and weather too , no Doubt. :hatsoff:
VC, Have you missed something ?
Rubber powered models and duration powered free flight models, Ornithopters, walkalong models, tumblewing (As paper rockets in pic. I have seen).
And Clasification chart of aeromodeling decipline as per FAI like F1 (d, m, . . . ), F2 , . . F7, S
You surely have covered those but We missed those Photos and videos.
VC nice pics nd nice captions! Yup Atul i know u guys too. Some time back i was in ur city. Now in a place far away but still united by this forum! Cheers!
Great Show there Sravan  :hatsoff:
Sravan, you took a LOT of trouble to make this show a success. Especially since you also had to pack and leave for Shillong immediately. All that driving from Ghoruimari back and forth wasn't a matter of joke. Thanks a million times for being there. I couldn't have done this final day without you. God bless!
Vc you sent me a SMS saying "....salvage whatever you can" for the Shillong airshow organized by sqn ldr abhinandhan's father (person in your post) ( the reason for sending that SMS is best known to you) how about thanking us, sandy for requesting sravan, and me for mobilizing him by air, ? Or is it that the world has become so thankless.
Reminds me of a Marathi proverb "kamaapurtha maama"
Great effort VC!! .... {:)} {:)}
Good effort VC.
I said what I had to!
Cheers!
Thanks Dorwin!
Will need some guidance from you soon for my HK 450 V2 Heli.
Cheers!
VC, I just read the entire thread, and firstly, I really am speechless for the effort you put in arranging something like this. This is not an event, this is history. I am sure these tiny toddlers will remember this for the rest of their lives and for that you have just been added in my book of "Great teachers"
There are some parts that were disturbing to me..well, this is not the first time it has happened, nor it is the last. I seriously am not judging anyone by favor, but guys come on, whats the problem if someone even makes little money? the sole purpose was to have a good time and enjoy.
Everyone wants a paper bill in their hands, for instance, Indian government has been shouting, that their hospitals are free for the poor and needy, my punk (_|_) they are! they been charging even a beggar :Rs:50 to open a file! :giggle: :giggle: I witnessed this and reported this too..but that was long time ago.
The most important thing here was passing the message of "growing with a beautiful hobby that we call aeromodelling"
regards,
dD

anytime, To be on the safe side, I really don't trust HK anymore in case of helicopters. These are dangerous things to fly and with HK's quality! I rather not fly them, but there is a catch when buying from HK, try to get the align compatible kit, also the motor, ESC and other electronics, but replace the main gears, tail gears, main shaft holder, tail shaft holder with the Align ones, you will not regret. Well, I learned, this the hard way.
Dorwin, I am truly overwhelmed by what you had to say. I didn't see it that way till now.
As far as the unpleasant bit is concerned, let it slide. The people in question are / were dear friends and we will put all this behind us soon, I hope. They stood by me and looked after me in trying times not too long ago.
Out of the 658 participants, even if 1 takes up the hobby with equal passion, the effort involved will be deemed as successful.
All is well that ends well.............
Hmm, Its best the people do not put their personal differences out in a public forum. Specially since 99% of the forum members may personally know any of the warring parties but end up getting involved in some way or other.

Thanks Sujju Bhai. AVS is a progressive school and I am already in consultation with them for add on workshops. Possibly as early as Nov / Dec 2011. We are also talking about a Hovercraft / Boat modelling camp soon. Let's hope these work out.
Pankaj C - please note my request to Controlflyer in post # 101.
