The best of the bests of all times with no doubt is Hanno Prettner.
He competed in 8 T.O.C`s (Tournament of Champions) and won them all!
He competed in 7 F3A World Championships and again won them all.(In 1991 Chip won it - Hanno didn't compete that year)
His last WC was in '93 and he won,he didn't compete ever again.
He won the Worlds in 1983 with a plane called Calypso his own design and that plane was giving to Formula 1 legend Ayrton Senna from Brazil.
Besides that he won the European Championships 16 times.
He never lost a competition.
He retired undefeated.
Some well known models designed by him:
Magic
Curare
Calypso
Supra-Fly
Sensation
He had a tie up with OK Model Mfg. of Japan (the Famous Pilot Models, Kits, Accessories manufacturer)

Also known as the Hanno Screw, this spin in knife-edge was popularised by many times World Aerobatic Champion Hanno Prettner. Its a difficult one to do right but is not restricted to 3D models alone

@sanjayrai55,
Sirji,
Achanak Hanno Prettner ki yaad kaise aiyee?
Here's one of his...
Recognise it?
90% completed by the late SqnLdr Tariq Ali, and gifted to me by his son, to complete.
I'll complete it, but don't have the courage to fly it!
If I would like to read a history book it would be on aeromodelling, but I couldn't find a decent one. :(
Anymore legends to know of?
@KKIyer sir I think if Mr. Ali would have been alive he would have loved to see it fly at least once than just dusting on a showcase.
