Title: How do you take your models to the fields?
Post by: Darshan for multirotors on June 08, 2016, 07:02:18 PM
Hello everybody, I would like to know how you guys take your models to the field. Here's how I take mine. There is enough space in the bag to keep two quads along with tx. Just found it lying around so.. Better use it than waste it.  ;)

You are very lucky. It's very hard to find a good place to fly in mumbai.

I carry my stuff in my car to gurgaon. I get me back seat folded or completely removed. For the ground near my home; i just walk the 50 meters.

Even I have a small plot near my building must be around 150m2 but not enough for flying freely. I just go there to test my quad occasionally. Very small area. I have parks around but they are mostly filled with people by 5-5:30 in the morning itself. I will have to search for a new area to fly!

Sorry the above data is my  incorrect guess
now confirmed by dad that the plot is 250 x 400
and dear reader to your surprise its surrounded its 3 sides by such fields.
Sorry for you guys

In the old days (1960s) we used to hook the towhook of our gliders to the back of our collar, and cycle over 16km to a police ground in what is now Saket in Delhi.

I had a Skysurfer for a couple of months before, that i dis-assemble in the same box it came with it.

the H plane was fixed with a velcro instead of permanently fixing with glue and hence can be detached,

wings has no bolts and are fixed by velcro. i sold it to someone in chennai and cannot post pics, but it is indeed a useful trick for carrying such planes.
The assemble and taking off the plane takes less than a minute.

I wish quads could have been that easy to disassemble and assemble on the field in such sweat and heat.  8-)

But considering the amount of screws I have on my quad, even with an electric screwdriver it will take more than 8 mins.
