Title: How to increase the video Tx and Rx in a tunnel
Post by: sandeepm on November 21, 2012, 12:58:42 PM
Hi guys,
i got a project of implementing a CCTV project to be implemented in a tunnel Boring Machine (TBM). for this i got the HK 1500mw 900 Mhz Video tx kit.
the problem :
the FPV kit can go upto 3 KM max with stock antenna. and the current project is at 2 KM and will go upto 8 KM in next 1 year.
i know that this kit works fine in open space, but will it work in a tunnel for same distance?
what type of antenna is needed to beam the signal directly to the receiver?
NOTE : the tunnel is straight and line of sight is clear.
Thanks
Sandeep

Incase of LOS it will work... infact a tunnel will even facilitate ground reflections. Use a patch at receiving end. U can even install 900 mhz repeaters in between....
