Thread dedicated to reporting RC Heli accidents, quote some lessons learnt, if you can (If there is any), for the sake of others

true, he was just lucky to be safe else the head would have chopped off :(

i think all need to wear a gladiator dress while flying.

FlyJo

respect helis..  Sport flying is OK.. but i hate 3d. extreme radical movements has lot of stress on the machine. .   not worth it..

FlyJo

Sujit helis were meant for scale and sports flying ,until someone got bored doing that and thought ,what next  :)

FlyJo

@ Shannon dude you scared us by posting this video lol

Is that guy wearing armour on his back? because the blade hit his back and nothing happened to him also some mechanism broke when the blade hit is back and he seems okay, the blade must have hit him hard but nothing happened to him Lol it seems odd. If he has no armour then the human backbone can take a hit from a CF blade rotating at god knows how high speeds and break a helicopter.I think just before the blade hit him he cut throttle. To the human backbone
Build planes like feathers rather than tanks, both handle bullets equally well.

Looks like the tail rotor hit the ground, and the heli lost tail authority and started spinning.  The flyer realized this and hit throttle hold, it seems.  That would have damped the impact of the blades on him.

Still, this goes to show that RC crafts, and helis in particular, are to be treated with caution/respect.

This is another reminder to all of us to be careful with the machines.

Keep it at a safe distance n always do preflight checks.

A Good pilot will practice until he gets it right,
A Great pilot will practice until he can't get it wrong.

RIP
Just saw his Trex 700N video - he was an awesome 3D pilot.

Horror as remote-control helicopter stunt pilot, 19, DECAPITATES himself with his  aircraft after he lost control
Roman Pirozek Jr, 19, was an avid RC helicopter hobbyist
He specialized in performing dare-devil tricks with his powerful $1,500 model helicopter
His own father watched as the blades of the 6-pound RC flyer sliced off a piece of his head
He was dead when police arrived

People I came across this disturbing news... :'(

Pray for safety and for wisdom when we fly our models.... and to follow all safety regulations to avoid accidents such as these
Its better to Crash while Learning on a sim rather than Learn from Crashing on the field

avesh

that's horrendous ,may God have mercy on us and others as well.
Planes are like feel-good buddy movies and helis are like horror films... you just have to like being scared!

iwincar

What an amazing skills the victim had! Respect....and condolences..RIP Roman Pirozeck
