Hi seniors, I ordered online one hexacopter parts from korea, but strucked in mumbai customs. I sent a person there for clearance but custom people saying NOC from telecommunication dept. actually in the package one controller, 6motors, 6 ESA(10A) 6 propellors are there. Give me suggestion to get that items please

It should be Postal customs not Airport. If it does not contain any "RF" component, it does not come under 'Telecommunication' Dept. if you send me the exact URLs I can give the Customs HS Code which should satisfy them.

Folks, any idea if we can hit the customs Head on (RTI etc) on holding packages for uncalled reasons ? Lately they are creating too much of nonsense.

cost is $417 with the blue board. but seller declared on the package $50, there is no RADIO and LI-PO. If is there any way please help me out...thanks

Please search, and you will see how multiple people have handled such situations. I hope you waited for two weeks before contacting customs, because they tend to make life difficult if you appear in person.  Once you have appeared in person, you will have to work either your negotiation skills or your contacts.

+1 to that. Very well said. The key here is to WAIT and have PATIENCE. While it may appear in the begining that the parcel may never come to you, you will be surprised to see the package delivered someday, if you wait and hold on to your anxiety.

Most cases I have been reading on the forums are way too anxious to get their parcels. (I completely understand that it is very natural to be worried about high value parcels.) However, it is a daily job for the postal/customs department. If you make noise, they will torchure you... better stay low and not make much noise. The parcels will reach safe.

My third package in a row has been held by PAD for invoice etc. I smell a Rat. Earlier the PAD/FPO used to release the package without any charge ( as most of them were below the permissible limit) or put a reasonable duty. Now they want us to visit them for all packages.

They remain trigger happy, well fed by the commercial importers tipping them, and create a rakus for personal importers as they know they are most helpless and Venerable. I would inquire from my uncle if we as individuals can take some official action against this constant Eire. As far as I know, if an item is importable under HS code, it could not held on grounds of 'It could be used in....'

Was it shipped via US priority mail or via EMS or equivalent .

Normal registered Parcel (HK/CH) ... I have enough of parcel shipped to me to be saying this, be assured.

I do agree that I have seen more leniency showed to unregistered USPS parcels. But that may fall during the good  times

Hi All,

After how many days one should start worrying after the package has reached the custom for inspection. My package has a heli plus a 2.4 Ghz radio (Radios is WPC approved. source: http://www.rcbazaar.com/products/396-fs-ct6b-6ch-24ghz-transmitter-receiver.aspx ). Package is through hongkong post to india. Its lying there since 2 days now. Please let me know.

Means they are asking for the payment proof of the invoice declared in the parcel.

I was told that import of Radio especially air one will be more difficult. It seems that no radios are currently blanket approved. We surface guys may have better luck.

Hi gbisht, I cannot disclose the amounts, yes its from mumbai customs, I have given authorization to that particular agent and i provided invoice of the product..thats it.   

can you pm me the total price you had to pay..??

ALL Kinds of Radio Transmitters , Air, Surface or Subterranean  fall under 'Restricted' item, requiring WPC Type Approval followed by an Import License :

There is no mention of any sub-type of Radio being relaxed from the restriction.
People have been succeeding to get them through Airport route, leniency of Customs or other means. I see a high scrutiny in Bangalore customs.

Be advised.

I saw that normally if you go for UPS or DHL, chances of parcel being detained by customs are less. yesterday only I got my Spektrum DX6I from UPS delivered in Pune. I bought it from RC Planet, USA.

But that being said chances of parcels being detained are still there although not much.

I would recommand if Seller provides UPS or DHL it may be good option.

Hi All,

I ordered a complete heli from Hong Kong (including radios). It Got cleared from mumbai customs without any hitch nor any intervention required.  Radio frequency was legal in india and is WPC approved. Customs took about a week 7 days to be precise for clearance.
