good morning everybody,
....I am a german heli enthusiast but fly planes as well. I am in delhi - sarfdarjung dev area- for  2 month on sabatical.
I am starting with quattrocopters - phantom2 with gopro and 3 axes gimbal- and ordered the ipad groundstation parts at hobbyking.

....I need to ask a silly question please: how does that work in india/Delhi ?
Do I get a written info that I can pick the parcel  at a given adress and pay taxes there in cash ?
Or how is the procedure ?

To properly answer your question the selected shipping mode is to be known.
HK offer Air Parcel / EMS / Express couriers like DHL/Fedex etc.
In all the modes the shipment will reach your door step and you can pay the custom duties during delivery.
However, if you have selected Air parcel or EMS and your shipment has some radio transmission parts, customs may hold your parcel and ask for Equipment Type Approval.

Well Its been years that we are fighting for this that we cant Order Tx/Rx from internation website some's order they get it and some never got it but when the problem will get solved
so do i say that there is no way to solve this problem ??

I'll repeat this again you can buy any tx/rx from tower if you get it via ups world wide saver . I jot my 10j , my friend got his 14 sg as well as a t7c . Few days back i had ordered a few rx almost a month back and got them without any issue

I don't believe this to be true. Did your orders go through Mumbai Customs? Mumbai Customs is the strictest of the lot and will catch most tx/rx orders regardless of postal service. I think the success rate is higher if shipping through Fedex.

Try for yourself , dont be cheap on your shipping partner chosee UPS World wide saver from Towerhobbies and you will get it . About rest of the sites i cannot say

I am thinking to purchase a **D J I Phantom vision+** from USA via EBAY for 1339$ with shipping
I have some questions regarding same-

1. The seller ships using USPS to INDIA, so should i ask him to mark it as used/refurbished and declare item value 400-500$, will it help in less duties?

2. My relatives are coming in january 2014, should i ask them to bring it for me?

3. Should i use some parcel forwarding service and get it shipped to me using FEDeX/DHL stating it as refurbished/used and declare item value worth 400-500$

Kindly tell me which method should i use and which will be best for me.

Why Fedex does not follow similar procedure ?
People who uses fedex should insist for similar receipts.

Finally received my parcel on 11/22/14 - with a damn custom fine of 4500/- that's the highest customs I have ever paid. The content value was 6500/-. I really want to know how do they evaluate the duties.

i Ordered Eachine CG022 headless quadcopter RTF 11cm x11cm from tmart.com for 25$ with air parcel register
it was shipped on 11th on swiss post . now it arrived at chennai INMAAC - chennai foreign post office and been there for more than a week . If tracking is not updating then it should have reached me by now i live 70 kms from chennai at Kanchipuram town

So it says dispatched to Chennai Customs Well Your near Chennai so that's why its dispatched to Chennai Customs Man.
It was in Mumbai But for only sorting from there it was sent to Chennai and I think because of Holidays International Parcels will be a little late but don't worry you should receive it soon.

should i go for the regular registared mail
or is the EMS any good?

Sir your order is about 575$ (aprox. 36,000 INR) which includes Lipo and radio so according to me it has high priority to get caught by customs. so prefer to buy from India... if you don't get DEVO 10 in India you should go for phantom 2 or walkera QR X350 from rcmumbai.com
