guys i m ordering a RTF Quadcopter from banggood...
the price is 636$ and they are ok with billing it for a
lowest of 240$...

can u please tell me how much in duty (percentage)
what would i have to pay if the package is detained...

an early response would be highly appreciated...

thanks

subhashjk0508

RTF?( battries, radio!!) too much to worry about!!

areebnazim

20% of the declared value/random valuation by customs. Also depends on which carrier are you using to get the items shipped. Higher duty through Fedex/DHL and about 5% lower through EMS.

Shoudn't be detained for duty fee only though...

I think so its a little bit of risk my friend if it comes by Registered Post. As its a Expensive Thing I would prefer to Choose FedEx Or DHL for Shipping Well In My View.
But Best Of Luck,
Regards,
Aman.

With FedEx or DHL it's a 100% that I have to pay the duty.. but with registered mail... well I might get lucky.. and if not I'll pay up.. or return the package if they nag me too much..

Thorough whatever post it comes, The chance of it reaching your hand is tooo low if it comes with something looking like a Radio transmitter....
And also considering recent happenings, they will be on a Lookout for what they call "Drones" ............Be careful, pay through paypal , so that at least your money will be safe even it turn up that your Shipment is not...

Well Actually I really don't know about that my friend you know that If its shipped by FedEx or UPS or DHL it may get passed then you will have to pay duties and second thing if it comes by Registered Airmail then surely It may get stuck.
Regards,
Aman.

My experience is that if you use DHL/Fedex or any other high speed shipping service you will receive the item quickly but they will charge a hefty duty. If you use registered Singapore/China/Hong Kong air mail you will not have to pay duties as long as you ask the seller to mark items as a gift. There is a small chance you will lose the parcel, and the shipping is slow.

aman1256

Well In airmail we wont have tracking if its registered then we have tracking.

Had got a few things from UK
- Phantom 2 battery & Props from UK and asked them to Bill it for 40 Pounds through UPS. It was delivered in 3 days, but ya Customs charged 1250 + 250 by UPS.

Will Order FPV in a day or two. Total cost is around $300. Lets see how much they charge this time. Strange that noone in india is selling ImmersionRC products.

aman1256

Hmm Congrats On That and I hope you don't get charged by customs. :D :)

Aman.

No matter what you order, there are high chances that anything marked as RF/radio is definitely gonna get seized if you do not have WPC ETA & import license. The custom officers are pretty strict about import of any RF equipments and that too RTF Drones!!! I had to ask customs to return my RTF Drone as they wanted me to provide them WPC ETA & import license in order to release my item from them! :(

will tx modules be caught at customs? ???

Last month I have ordered a 7" FPV monitor from ebay.com for $45. Yesterday I have received it. I had to pay Rs1,270 during delivery.

hey guys I need help.

I bought https://stacksocial.com/sales/the-extreme-micro-drone-2-0-aerial-camera?aid=a-49y03t13

It's now stuck in customs for a WPC NOC

I don't stay in Mumbai.

I emailed them, this is what I got in reply:
"WPC/NOC and type approval is required for clearance of transmitter/receiver to be used in toys/helicopter/aeroplane and other articles vide Public Notice 111/2013, dated 12.09.2013 issued by Commissioner of Customs(Import), NCH, Mumbai. In this regard, you have to take the item to the WPC's Western Regional HQ at Gorai Road, Borivali(W), Mumbai under Customs escort and obtain necessary NOC/type approval. You may also contact on telephone number 022-28672351 or log on to www.wpc.dot.gov.in/equipment_show.asp to confirm whether the item under import is type approved by WPC. After obtaining the same, you may approach Postal Appraising Section for assessment the goods."

What can I do to get the drone delivered to my home address without visiting mumbai?

TIA

Himadri Roy

If you have the patience or any contacts with some officials try getting a NOC...or try telling them what you intend to use it for some competition, college project....
I would suggest you to ask the custom ppl to send it back to the seller and ask for a refund from the seller. As getting NOC takes a whole lifetime... :banghead: :banghead:
AND PLEASE FROM NEXT TIME BEFORE BUYING ANY RC GOODS READ OR SEARCH THE FORUM FOR ANY INFO  :hatsoff: :hatsoff:  :)
