Hi everyone, a surprising thing happened today. After almost 11 months of placing my order with HobbyKing, I received a letter from customs saying they have detained my package and that this was the final notice (first too, actually). They are asking for No Objection Certificate (NOC) from WPC Wing, Borivali for clearance. However, I haven't ordered any radio or remote.

Please can anyone assist me with this matter (perhaps someone experienced with it)? Thank you so much!

EDIT: Just read the last page. However, my case is different since I don't have any radio/remote in the package whatsoever.

Wow after 11 months thats really surprising actually.Well as you dont have any radio then why are they asking NOC was something wrriten in letter for what reason they are demanding it? ??They would have mentioned it on the letter right? ?
Because Getting Getting A NOC is really hard From WPC BORIVALI.

I have $280 worth of electronics coming from HK and have been held by the Delhi Customs for almost a week now. Still no intimation from the Foreign Post Office but tracking shows the duration it has been held for. I'm finally planning a visit to the FPO tomorrow to see if it can be released. Most likely will have to pay duty around 30% max but can't wait for the electronics anymore. Here's what the tracking shows:

Based on the retention reason, I'll be carrying the invoice copies from HobbyKing and also the proof-of-payment (I used PayPal). Will post if I face any other issues or requirements.

I have almost 4 years of commercial imports logistics but have never ordered personally so it's new grounds for me. Technically speaking, all the customs should ask for is a proof of purchase/value (to curb under-invoicing and as long as it's not a Rx/Tx). But we all know how selective our country's govt. departments are when it comes to following procedures so have no idea what to expect.

Well As You used Paypal You can get your money back by Filing a case there. But yes as they are requiring just a Proof Of purchase and Value so its not a problem as soon as you come back from FPO just update what happened.

CED taking long time.  You can visit there and meet with inspector.  They want some tip Even you can get your shipment without any duty.

Just came back from the FPO. Duty was calculated at Rs. 7000/- for a $280 shipment.. The guy says "Duty 7000 hai bataao kya karna hai?" I took the cue.. Paid 4K and came back.. Will be delivered in 2 days now.. Well I hope so at least..

All they needed in terms of documentation (in my case) was a proof of purchase/value. To self-collect the courier they wanted certain NOC(s) which I did not have so agreed to home delivery itself.

7000 that is around 40% of your purchase value

I will never use EMS again, they charged almost 100% duty on one of my shipments from hobbyking. Had to pay 2700 duty on an USD 81 shipment which included a USD 30 EMS shipment charge!!

Fedex rocks... they charged INR 700 on a USD 350 shipment!!

My bad guys. Meant to type 6000.. Actual duty was calculated at 6000/-. So that's about 32%. Of course I picked paying less. Hoping you guys know what that means..

Fedex charged 28% for another order from hobbyking.

Hey everyone. I just wanted to know if it is ok to order a BNF helicopter from BangGood (V911) shipped by Registered Air Parcel. Since it does not have any radio in the parcel it shouldn't be a problem at customs right? I tried searching for BNF on the forum but could not find anything pertaining to this.

Sorry For Late Reply. Well There Should be No Problem in Customs Sir. But If The Customs See that It Is A Helicopter they might check it if there is Radio Inside it or not. Obviously there will be not but sometimes what can happen in Rare cases that It is a Danger Clearing This Helicopter you Know Like Drones Are Banned So Many Drones Have Been Not All Allowed Through But That Also In Rare Cases. But If it happens then what you can do I hope you can get your money back?? Am I right??? If you don't receive it.You Can give it a Try and what I think is that it should not stuck in Customs if it get stuck then they will probably sent you a letter that why it is stuck and what they require. Most Probably They require invoices,Price Proof,And/or Covering letter,Documents Nothing Else.
So I think At last It should not be Stuck In Customs.If you order Surely update us.

@SK1701 - hey. I've ordered  and successfully received the following from bangood without any issues.
1. WLToys V911 RTF
2. WLToys V911 BNF
3. WLToys V922 RTF


JUST USE REGISTERED POST AND FORGET ABOUT IT SINCE IT TAKES AGES TO COME. But you won't run into customs issues that way. Speaking from experience, EMS is the worst of the lot no matter where and what you order from.

@aman Thanks a lot for the reply. Please don't call me Sir. I guess there is a risk involved but I ought to be able to convince them that there is no radio equipment inside right? I don't know if BangGood has an option to return if it gets stuck. I will surely check it up. Anyway, I need to get a new radio first before getting the V911 BNF.
@ppcruise, thanks a lot for the info. I am not confident about getting an RTF but I will probably go for a BNF once i get a new radio. Banggood has it very cheap and the registered shipping is cheap too.

Hello Everyone,

I have ordered a Syma X5C Remote Control 2.4 GHz from China (www.feala.com).
Which I received 1 months before, but it is not working with my Syma X5C 2.4 GHZ Quadcopter.
So i ask them to provide me the replacement of it. They have sent the replacement, but now the customs had taken the parcel and aksing me to take WPC type approval/WPC license.
Can anybody help me how to obtain the WPC approval or license.

My Friend It is really hard to get The WPC Approval Or License. I am really sorry for that. I think you have to send the Parcel Back And Get A Refund.
