I am planning to buy a Taranis from aliexpress.com, and was wondering what shipping method to use? My options are China Post Registered Air Mail, DHL, EMS, and TNT. Which one is the best and will not run into any Customs problems? If I have to pay the Customs charges, what will be the amount for a 300$ product?

 Customs won't charge anything for transmitter because they wont allow it. Next thing we cant predict whether your transmitter reaches you or not. Better you wont order it.

Why take the risk of importing from Banggood when all those items are available at LHS in India for pretty much the same price?

Completely agree with you there Cycloned. Basically on a Sunday(Valentine's), I spent the entire day looking at drone build videos that pointed me to Banggood and I saw some pretty great reviews online about it. After building my parts list, it was just an impulse buy without even considering that I should look for local forums and shops!

Its now just been an agonising wait with looking at the tracking page every 3 hours and jumping in excitement whenever the package moves! Worst was when I saw the same frame at RC Bazaar today. So close yet so far!

I'm looking to documenting this build from an absolute n00b perspective. Exciting!

yes it has left for its destination after clearing customs ...duty may or may not be applied u will get too know on delivery only

This is extremely confusing. Are they sending it back to Kolkata? But then it mentions Receive item at delivery office.

So I received the package today! They somehow even sent me the Tx Rx without any hassles!!

But the problem is that the Tarot frame they've sent is faulty. Two parts of the main frame don't quite line up leading to asymmetric slits in which other parts are to be mounted. It is extremely frustrating, but I'm now talking to the people at Banggood to see what can be done about this.

So close, yet so far.

Please sent some emails to the MUMBAI POST DIVISION.Cause last day my parcel was blocked in COCHIN and I send mail to COCHIN AIRPORT CUSTOMS,CUSTOMS COMMISSIONER,POSTAL APPRAISING DEPARTMENT etc. and I got the parcel two days later.Not saying that it would speed up the process.But it would help us to know it's exact location.

so hi bought a parrot bebop 2 from uk to india it shipped from ups but now stuck in delhi custom they asking noc from Wireless Planning Commission, i did search for that only and after reading some post i got to know it nt a easy task so i wrote a letter to them stating that this drone dont need any license blah blah waiting for result
so apart from that do you guys have any advice for me on how can i take it out incase they denied
i need it very badly :/ wanting 1 drone from 2013 and it first time i could get it so you know i dont want to return it back :/ 

DRONES have been strictly prohibited... i had to finally buy my AR drone 2.0 from amazon.in costed 10-13k extra but i had problem with shipping as the drone was in india itself.... u cannot get any drone out of customs till DGCA finally decides to work on it...
At banglore customs they told me to get a special permission from DGCA, so i guess different places are asking for different things... all we can hope for is that laws are properly made and made in time.

Hello Guys, I ordered a rc car micro 2.4ghz from banggood and the custom officer said all 2.4ghz is banned. I checked the documents online and its restricted for uavs and rc big quadcopter.

This is becoming a nuisance now. Banning all 2.4ghz items. The ban is not on rc cars. i explained that to Mr. Rao from Wpc office but he refused to listen. Said if its 2.4ghz he will not listen. The ban is only in mumbai, this is there way to fight terrorist how might use this frequency to attack in mumbai.

Anyone has any suggestion how to deal with this.     

What were the dimensions of the package? Did you not ask banggood to mark as gift and low item value?

its not the dimensions. They checked the package and it was written 2.4ghz and the custom officer said. 2.4ghz is banned!

dev kumar soni you are not alone in this i am also stuck they asking me nov from wpc
i did call them and they told they dont issue for drone so i will suggest you if you got some good level contacts
use that instead of wasting time with wpc :/
i m normal student dont hv high level contact so basically stuck

better ask the custom officer to send package back to seller atleast you get your money back because there is no way of getting that out from customs. Now a days customs officers are much more particular about these certificates.
