I ordered a couple of lipos an year back and they shipped it via fedex...to my surprise i only had to pay 230 rupees

DHL and FedEX etc. import the consignments in consolidated manner and these are hardly checked by customs. DHL and FedEX often impose absurd charges saying that its customs duty. But ask them about the details and they won't provide it.

Hi guys, i ordered a quadcopter online from bangood.com but was held by the kolkata customs after its arrival in india, since it is banned in india which i came to know later.
Now the customs has sent me a Show cause notice and asked me to get a N.O.C from DGCA to fly the quad. I tried to convince the custom people that i have ordered the quad only for my personal use, but they are unwilling to cooperate and also told me that they will cease the product, also they told me that i have to pay some kind of penalty for the importing a restricted item.

So guys if you have any idea how to get out of this trouble please do let me know.

The only answer is send the items back to seller.
Explain the problem to seller and request for refund.
Write letter to Assistant Commissioner of customs, request the authority to let you send it back to seller.

I did tell the seller about the problem, but they told that the Indian custom department must send them a no show or some kind of reply
(don't quite remember) then only they will refund me the money.

But when i talked to the custom department to send the item back they refused and also told me that they will cease the product and also i will have to pay extra penalty for importing banned item.

Same with the DJI Mavic Pro.
The mumbai customs people are not ready to send it back to hongkong, from where it came.
They have confiscated it simply.

If the customs are unwilling to cooperate, No matter what, you will have to just let it go.
Many such cases have had seizures and never saw a daylight.
Take it with a pinch of salt... just console yourself that you had some black money and you lost it ...

It's sad but true.

Im going to the customs tomorrow to request to give it to me. Lets see.

Or else, I have to become smart and use wrong ways to get my DJI in.

Buddy, they dont even care to reply to emails or receive phone calls.
Forget anything from them.

I personally visited DGCA in Delhi two months ago for NOC regarding a project for electricity department.
But they said rules are about to come, we have posted Draft so wait for 15dys.
But as all of us know nothing has happen so far.
People are flying (illegally) specially wedding walas.
but people like us who want to do some recreational they banned us.

You seriously want to buy at that price

Certainly not happy about that price .. but me and a few friends are planning to travel in the coming weeks and something like the mavic would be great addition to our trip . there are a few of us so might consider it.
