mine has cleared customs in mumbai and bangalore but I haven't heared anything after that
i'm thinking of going to the foreign post office and seeing what they're doing with my stuff. doubt they'll have much interest in the rubbish that i've ordered.

It's not about if they're interested in the items or the value of the items.  It's about a feeling they get of how much you really need the items.  If you order two 2200 mAh 3S lipos, to them these are very much needed items to you and they will hold them although the total cost is less 1000 INR.  I know because this happened to me. 

My last order was bullet connectors and two small 2S lipos and the parcel arrive straightaway to my door, 2 days after arriving in country.

To be safe, always presume they will tax every parcel, of which they have a right to do so.

i don't mind paying the duty, i'm confused because it shows that it's already cleared customs 4 days back.

What do you mean something is fishy? What could be the issue here? I ordered multiple items, the maximum value was 40 dollars, minimum was about 5$ from towerhobbies. the total came to about 115$ + delivery charges

I think you shoud just sit tight and wait. I've ordered tons of stuff online. One - They never reach on a consistent time frame. Two - They always reach.

Same, this is the first time it's taking so long after reaching Bangalore, hence the worry. Anyway, I'll just have to wait it out.

Try calling the LPO. They will help you.

probably just the holidays this week slowed the post office workers.  if the parcel cleared customs and it doesn't reach you after a week, you probably have to visit the local PO.

got my items today. i had a letter arrive at home that asked me to come and pick it up from the post office, no one showed up at home to deliver it. went there and signed for it, no customs. The box had been opened and the tape had been put back in a shoddy manner, also seemed like an elephant had been sleeping on it for a couple of nights. But everything was in order once I opened it.

my parcel is stuck in customs since 45days or so... it says "location: Mumbai air" and "event type: Send item to customs (Inb)"
this is something new for me and the shipping mode is Air Mail (registered) from Hobbyking
its been more than a month since i placed the order and now its stuck in customs since 16th of this month.
what should i expect now.

i have ordered 4 motors and esc for my quad. parcel weight 750grams

I've experienced this already.  You will have to visit or call your local post office for instructions after they check on the parcel.

Yes, easily. But remember the conversion rate is not the normal rate. Your bank charges some extra. say 1$ = 57.5$ not 54.5$
