i live in Nagpur, maharashtra and the parcel is in mumbai 
the local post office staff told me that they cannot help me in tracing or enquiry for my parcel

talk to someone else in the post office.  Or get a number to the foreign post office that serves your area.

Anyone dealt with kolkata's custom department?
My stuff has been there since a week, i am from Delhi :|

I'm in Delhi. If you order lipos from Hobbyking, the parcels land in Kolkata where customs decide to hold or not for duty.  My parcel was stuck there nearly three weeks.  I contacted the foreign post office.  After two more weeks, it arrived with a request to pay the duty.  Prepare yourself for a long wait.

Thats true lipo lands in kolkata but if small package they will let it go. Can anyone tell me the difference between "International (Registered) Air Mail" and "Air Parcel". Can Air Parcel be tracked? . Used to order through international registered one

This is odd. I am from kolkata, and when I order lipo, it lands in delhi or mumbai first

Just wait, if you call them they'll make you run circles around them (it's like being in a relationship with a b!tchy girlfriend) if you keep calling her up, she'll get annoyed and ignore you more.

Don't call up. They will just stick the customs bill on and let it go in a few days..

so what should I do now?
well, i want it within a week and I dont mind paying 29% customs...

You will wait forever trying to call Kolkata yourself.  Ask the foreign Post Office in New Delhi to track it for you and once found, they will tell Kolkata you are here reasy to receive the parcel.

I guess I should do the same.... My parcel has been in bombay since 29 March

i am also facing same situation; mine also stuck in mumbai custom since 09.04.2013. It has to deliver in Hyderabad but it arrived in india through chennai then to mumbai custom. Why not Hyderabad directly?

Can anybody suggest any solution and how i can track in Mumbai custom.

nchandra - A parcel dosnt really has to go to your city to inspection. There are custom departments at special places only. so your parcel went to mumbai customs.

Hey Rahul, my parcel was about 2k worth of stuff ,but I payed only 117 worth of customs! And my parcel has been in customs since the 21 of MARCH!!! just chill... One fine day, one creepy guy will suddenly turn up at your door asking for money for a destroyed cardboard box from "foreign".... And don't bother trying to contact them... They'll just charge you heaps of customs lolz

Yeah I guess that means that you ordered goods which are too expensive, so you will have to get official permission to bring it in....

@aniket- so yours took about 39 days...

I wonder how much my will take. My has high value stuff. incl lipos and motors.

@ Rahul... Then get ready to pay an arm and a leg, and then some in customs....lol... Split up your order... Doesnt kill anyone.... Also always keep your LiPos in a separate order, cause they ship LiPos through Singapore, which takes more time....

Mine 3 par cells are strucked for 15,12 and 5 days respectively.. and 2 more to get strucked..

Yaar actually only one par cell contain lipo... other two with motors and esc.. then again a frame and some hard wares.. I bought as many small packages of 500gms for get rid of customs.. still they are making it late...
