Finally got my packet yesterday....paid a duty of Rs.2867 plus a penalty of Rs.1500 for a parcel totalling $ 127 including shipping. I dont think I am ever going this route again......

i ordered few 450 blades and spares (non electronics) with a invoice of 2300 i guess from hobbyking, received it within 9 days without any custom duties.. ecstatic

i also order Some Blade from Hobbyking that is also non electric...
But customs detain my parcel...and asking a some Document...

Most of stuff from hobbyking gets detained here in Ahmadabad as in case of parts, they give declaration as 'hobby-parts'. Its always suspicious to customs.

I have just ordered a Tamiya Lunch Box (Black Edition) and Tamiya Unimog CC01 from ebay. Both are Expert Built (XB) series. While the Lunch Box is being imported from USA, the Unimog is coming from Hong Kong. Will I face any Custom issues? Also are there any members from Delhi that are willing to go off-roading in their RC's once I receive my vehicles?

Read your msg.. I have gone through such hell in Foreign Post Office Mumbai & did challange the DC...& have ultimately received the parcel after 2 months...well the parcel conatined...receiver - 2.4 GHz, Servos, ESC & few Decals..... Call me on 9890026036 & will explain you how to go about it.

Anil kumar u shd have well thought of about the logistics before ordering ,As per the discussion here, only de. Commisionar level officer clears it ,
When you have options like RC bazaar in B'lore to.buy stuff.
Now don't expect any thing to happen overnight , as you have sent invoice , they are dealing with 1000 of articles that are pending before ur parcel too so it shd be min 3 months.

Never seen parcels being held up for so long ... Things have changed - for the worst!

Does it containt RTF helicopter or plane?

hmm actually it's something else. like consumer electronics.

Always use registered mail....as im a regular buyer from hobbyking my parcels never got struck on customs...as i set the declared value to 50% and stated as "toy parts" and also marked as "Gift".....gifts never struck on customs unless value exceeds 5000/-

how will they know the value exceeds 5000 if they don't open it??

my seller undervalues my package but does not mark it as gift.

I bought servo tester from dhgate ..they shipped through chinapost it took 20 days to reach me....on the other hand my motors and other stuffs purchased from hobby king and shipped through hongkong post reached me on 12th day...

this ridiculous retention reason: other is killing me.
