Hi Seniors and friends

I ordered mjx x900 hexacopter from everbuying.com in November end  2015 registered mail with tracking info. I received  it in a month  as it was mentioned in their website. I did not face any problems with custom and was delivered to my address without custom duty. After crashing it few times gyro stopped working.

So I decided to buy mjx family  (x900,x800 x600). This time I got good deal on banggood.com(105$ all 3) so ordered it without any research. Shipping through EMS(3$ extra). This time it is stucked at ced ahmedabad for more than a week so I called them and they said you will receive a letter which I did after 3 to 4 days of calling them. Asking for 1. Invoice  2.  Noc from wpc  3. May be custom duty. (Copy attached)

I did emailed them Invoice,  PayPal receipt and also gazette 2.4GHz mentioned it's was just RC toy for personal use. But no reply yet.

So now after all research about wpc noc and eta. I have some questions in my mind which our Seniors might HELP me for
1. Do customs as for only noc or also eta?
2. Does noc contain full details regarding product or just name of individual?
3. Can I apply for any similar 2.4GHz transceiver which is already eta approved for NOC? (Example : RC Fun Sky 2.4GHz)
4. Can any one help clearing this from customs?

WPC ETA is very very bad. Just sit idle if you are lucky then they will release after 10-15 days.

Hi guys.

I recently won a Quanum i8 Tx on another RC Forum and it was shipped by Royal Mail (tracking LB310267783GB). Unfortunately, it looks like the customs people have figured out it is a radio and tracking currently shows "India, BANGALORE SUB FGN POST, Record item customs information (Inb), Air, CED BANGALORE, Retention reason : Call Customs 080 22869992 OR Email ". I got this update on 2nd Feb. I wrote an email to the ID given and didn't get any reply. So should I try calling them? Most posts here suggest it is better to wait for them to contact you. How long do they usually take to contact you? What should my course of action be now?

Thanks

satyagupta

Sit back if you are lucky then it would be released with nominal duty.

If you call or get in touch with them they will ask for WPC NOC and ETA which is another pain in the a**e

Importing anything from HK is more or less a hit or miss situation today. 4/5 times I have got my parcel after paying actual duty of the genuine value of the invoice, which is pretty high for some products that I have imported.
I have a parcel sitting with them for more than eight months and have finally found the correct, not to mention official way to get it from BLR airport! It has Tx Rx and Lipos which raised a lot of flags initially.
If you have not imported anything of high value recently go ahead but try and use our postal system and avoid fed ex DHL etc.
Lipo's are a big NO and will probably get stuck in customs as they only ship via fedex which will definitely raise a flag not to mention the paper work.
Order the RC Plane but purchase batteries chargers etc locally to avoid any headaches!
Importing has taught me patience and the value of waiting for something for an indefinate period of time until one day your package will arrive for sure :) Be Positive.

I bought edf from HK it reached 28th January at kalkutta and reached Chennai at 30th January still now my parcel was in customs . Can you help me . What to do

Balakrishna Reddy

If your order is in between 7-8k customs will let you go if and only if its not a 2.4ghz radio stuff. If you are lucky then they may release your parcel.Anything which violates bands of WPC will be seized by customs and no way getting that out.

vibranthobbies

@Aero Manoj
Chennai customs clears within two to three days, if they are going to allow your shipment without duty.
If the shipment stays beyond one week the reason is that they have kept your shipment separately to verify the value, invoice, duty etc.
Recently one shipment from HK, bought for personal use, was in customs for more than 50 days. See the attachment.

Stay cool. Do not contact them at all unless you get some letter from them.
Check pm for the reason.

Hey guys,

I just placed an order an hour or two back for my first Multirotor assembly! I have been playing around with the Hubsan X4 to get a hang of of using a multirotor, so decided to build my own.

I will start a different thread for the assembly but I'd like some clarification on some parts I ordered.

I'm building a quad on the Tarot TL250 frame and I've ordered a FlySky Tx Rx as well. Now, I read on this forum that there might be some issues at the customs regarding getting this cleared? Can someone help me out here? The total value of the order is around $170.

Should I tell them to cancel just the Tx Rx and buy it here?

It'd be great if someone could please help me out here.

Thanks!

rishabhbarma

Yes, transmitter and receiver will be an issue with customs.
Better to not get them, the entire package might get stuck at customs.

Balakrishna Reddy

yeah price is favourable to you one thing to remember while ordering from overseas the package size must be small as possible so that it don't catch the eyes of customs and if the shipping is free, the chances to let the item go are high for that price .But try not to order the items violating WPC.

worksmith

#2064
So assuming that I remove the Tx Rx, the other parts shouldn't be a problem?

Following is a list of items that I've ordered:

- Tarot TL250 Semi Carbon frame
- 4 1806 2300 KV motors
- 5 inch props (10 pairs)
- 4 nos 12A ESCs
- OpenPilot CC3D Flight Controller

Balakrishna Reddy

whats the total weight of the package and price including shipping and does it include any TX and RX

rishabhbarma

No, it will not be an issue with customs.
Also, get a naza lite with gps boss, it'll fly the bloody quad copter for you and is very easy to set up. Quadkopters is selling a combo with the M8N GPS for around 9k, go ahead and buy it.

Balakrishna Reddy

If there is no TX and RX then there is no problem if and only if the volume is 15x15x15 -20x20x20 cubic.cm i guess and take care of the price also if it is above 100$ dollar also then its a problem. Onething while ordering from banggood forget about your order because it takes so long

Balakrishna Reddy

sometimes there may be a mismatch between price and volume they may look inside the package which is not good.

rishabhbarma

Even if they open it up, I guess they will release the electronic parts without any hassle, you might just have to pay customs.

Why not get the parts from within India, if you haven't ordered already ; there's such a huge stock of products.
Check rcmumbai.com , quadkopters.com

worksmith

Thanks for the update guys! Really appreciate it. I've asked Banggood to remove the Tx Rx and I will just buy it here.

@rishabhsharma That's a relief to hear. I spent the past few days on finding out what to build exactly and got so excited that I didn't really bother checking what all is available here! My bad. Regarding the Naza Lite, I did consider it but I decided that I will get to it in the next stage. Customs is fine, what are the charges?

@Balakrishna Reddy Yeah considering the parts I listed above they should fit within 20x20x20. There are quite a few mixed reviews regarding the delivery time; some received it in two weeks and some took six. Either way, the wait should be worth it. :)

I only wish that I had posted on this forum a bit early! Thanks for all the feedback guys.

Balakrishna Reddy

Then don't worry go ahead parts will definitely reach you

rishabhbarma

Customs will be around 30% (max.); most cases they don't charge at all.

Manideep G

Finally my parcel is being shipped to local post office. But I have been imposed 12000/- customs duty for my 14000/- worth parcel :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: and this process took around 25days after providing them the documents they have asked for. I'll never again order anything from foreign countries after this frustrating experience with customs :'(

Balakrishna Reddy

Thats really a massive amount. Will they release your parcel only after payment?
