I need a little advice.

One of my packages from HK, shipped by Singapore Post, says "BANGALORE SUB FGN POST, Return item from customs (Inb), Air, CED BANGALORE". Usually, right after this the status says "Send item to domestic location" and I receive it within 2 days. However, this time the status has been on "Return item from customs" since 2nd May. Any idea why this is?  ??? Another package from Banggood (also shipped by SG Post) said "Return item from customs" and then "Send item to domestic location" on 6th May and I got it today.

Either it's been seized at customs, or it's just going through slowly. Most of my packages are returned from customs in 2-3 days but sometimes they take 5 days or longer. It should get through no problem.

Hi,

I purchased a Frsky Taranis x9d plus transmitter and receiver from Banggood about a month back.
A few days back I got a letter (relevant part of the memo attached) which is asking me to produce the following:

  • Invoice/Receipt/Bill or any like document showing the description, quantity and
value of goods and mode of payment credit card/debit card .PAYPAL or Bank statement etc details.

  • Brochure/Product Catalogue/Technical Write up/Test Report, specitying the item
in the parcel. In case of any replicas, onus to prove the same is on the importer.

  • lmport Export Code certificate/lmport Licence/DGFT Licence in respect of restricted goods.
certificate as per the Condition 2(i) & 2(ii) of the chapter 95 of customs Tariff Act.

  • Certificate from PIant / Animal quarantine Department

  • WPC Certificate from Ministry of communications and Information Technology

  • The documents called for may be sent by post or e rnail or in person whichever is convenient to importer.

Questions running through my mind at the moment:

  • Does anyone have experience importing RC transmitters/receivers in the last year with customs at Bangalore?

  • I have asked for two invoices declared and actual value of the goods. Which would be advisable to be submitted. Banggood says they have put the declared value on the shipment which is quite less than the actual. I have payed through Paypal which has the acutal cost so I'm confused as to what to submit. Are both invoice and mode of payment required?

  • Is the import licence/certificate required for hobbyists?

  • I've read mixed reviews about WPC certificate. Is this really required or can I just submit the Invoice and mode of payment.

  • The last point says I can submit the documents by e-mail or in person. Which would be a better approach?

You won't be getting it. They don't release radios without the correct documents, which you won't be able to obtain. Either try to bribe or see if a contact of yours can get it out.

If your parcel would have been in delhi; i would have been able to help.

@cycloned,
You have suggested to zeuzoix,
"try to bribe"
Sir,
Can you avoid such illegal suggestions?

arunlouie

Hey,

I saw taranis x9d is on the list of allowed radio equipments to import (found it in the list in the same forum). Dont know if you  can highlight this to the officer.

When customs hold it, tracking usually says "Record item customs information (Inb(" along with a retention reason. So I can only hope it has been delayed for some reason. Hopefully I will get it this week

There is no 2.4 GHz radio that is legal to import. All banned.

Well, you answered your own question didn't you? ;)

@cycloned,
Sorry.
I'm old, and didn't know that bribes are not illegal any more.
Regards.

Last time I checked, multirotors were banned in India. That means almost all activity on this forum, in additional to flying, is illegal.

What's your point?

Razertech97

??? ??? U r trying to compare a hobby with bribeing really....but I guess flying RC under some regulations is legal also theirs a patent being signed by many people for making it fully legal...by the way we should stick to the topic
Also please do post if you get the taranis because I want to make orders

I'm comparing 2 illegal things. Also there is currently no regulation that makes flying multirotors legal. Just because the first draft of proposed guidelines are out does not mean it is legal yet.

cycloned,
nt all 2.4ghz radios are banned you can check the wpc website i have posted link to allowed tx list few times search and check get updated :)

cyberhack

@arunlouie
yes its allowed as per the wpc although i wont suggest you to order the tx by mail frm abroad rather ask someone coming frm abroad to india as even if you produce documents customs officers arent aware of everythng you will need a lot of patients to make them understand what it is and write letters and all stuff hectic task and might be that you end up lossing it better dont risk your money also point is that you might get heavy duty on it :)  :hatsoff:

SK1701

Could you post a link to the list of type-approved radios? All of the ones on the forum are quite old.

cyberhack

you should use google brother anyways
http://wpc.dot.gov.in/equipment_show.asp
check whatever you need is here this is a very old list of approved but yet its been there so its kinda approved ... although you cant only rely on this for documentation purposes you need manual of the tx and all stuff too to show db rating and power units all such sort of thngs if they ask :) :hatsoff:

SK1701

I did Google it first and came up with more outdated documents. That link appears useless as search terms such as "flysky" do not yield any results, even though there are several approved FlySky radios in other documents. If you know a better method of searching the database, please enlighten me.

Cycloned

If they are approved why are they seized?

aamin172001

Because we are living in very well developed country, where people are pressurised to live according to not so devloped political persons who just don't want to learn and do what they have did from ages.... :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

A nice written Thread by rcparkJets on WPC approval

http://www.rcindia.org/radios-and-receivers/procedure-for-obtaining-equipment-type-approval-(eta)-from-wpc/

In short ,to search  ,get yourself register at http://wpc.dot.gov.in/Mics/register.asp , Then go to Transreceivers then equipment .
List uploaded by netsecrets00  is attached here.

As per current rules , every Radio Equipment is to be Type approved in the name of individual . Once approved doesn't mean , approved for all .

Any specific model Tx-Rx using 2.4 GHz is not banned in India . Although Tx-Rx should meet requirements described in below documents .

http://www.wpc.dot.gov.in/Static/Gazette%20(%202.4%20GHz)_Outdoor.doc
http://www.wpc.dot.gov.in/DocFiles/GR-38.doc

We need to have all documents for Importing , Possession and demonstration . Tx-Rx listed in WPC website can be added by any Individual or HoobbyShop and listing in WPC website doesn't mean they are approved .

I want to purchase a RC car from banggod.com. Can anyone tell me whether there will be any problem at customs.
the model is Wltoys A959,the sites have warehouses in china. Please reply

miginstruments

Hi checkout with the weight and size of the parcel.  If it's too big and more weight then i would not suggest to go for it.  a weight of around 2kg is fine. more than that ll attract the custom guys

sampro999

Thanks mate , the weight of car alone is 1.7kg so I assume the package would weigh more than 2kgs
And the box would also be of medium size.
