Sanjay sir: How are you able to keep it tidy?? I clean my workshop one weekend and in next two weeks its a mess again..Ofcourse, its a orderly mess where i know all my stuff.

VC

Sadist! >:D

Wonder why the rack has a header with such a prophetic line - This too shall pass.....................pass where? To Guwahati, I hope.

Thank you Nitinraj, I only wish it had everything, then I would not have to go to the Hardware Store  ;D

Doc: It's very easy to keep orderly - just tidy up every day after finishing. Or, tidy up just before taking the photo

VC: The placard 'This Too Shall Pass' is intended to soothe the innards of those tormented by little green monsters, who look at my workshop with covetous eyes  (such species have been observed in Guwahati  ;) :giggle:)

Sandy, remain an officer and a gentleman, and do not get influenced by 'those  :giggle: Guwahatians'

VC

This, ill feeling towards Guwahatians, too shall pass..............................Amen!

To comment now would be hazardous to life and limb

Wind and passing and face - terrible combination. You should never PASS WIND on someone's FACE. CHEEE!

Aside from dedicated dehumidifier, etc., I'd be interested in hearing how everyone is storing their balsa this monsoon season. Forget about knee joint pain in this weather, seems the wood is faring worse.
Both hard and contest stock is warping away. Couple even split on their own. Have tried everything from cling wrap film with silica gel to spraying with isopropyl alcohol. No go. It's no use even cutting strips as once off the plank, they take their own curves. Am shaving 5mm stock to get straight n square 3mm. Guilty feelings. See attached photo of pontoons for my Schneider Trophy racer. Both built off same crutch/jig. The one on left I took to bedroom last night to install water rudder servo. Returned to workshop this morning and one on right has developed curves off its own. Thought of steaming it back into shape but worried Fevicol aliphatic glue joints will fail as well.
This is stock I brought with me when I TR-ed back to India. I wonder how LHS stock will fare by the time it reaches me.

All that praise for my workstation had this effect: the evil nazar eye struck in the form of termites, borers, white ants, dimags and their grandmothers and aunts  :violent: >:( >:(

sanjayrai55

Anyway, used that as an excuse to make a better backboard  ;D ;D

sanjayrai55

After all this, next morning at 6 am, when I went to my workshop, I thought we had an earthquake at night

sanjayrai55

As  started clearing up, an orange colour streak flashed out from beneath the planes, and bolted out the door!

Foolish feline got stuck there, so in revenge the tomcat created major havoc.

After tidying up

Thanks Avesh.......hope you mean the "after" and not the "before" pics :D

Yes, self built. Both table & backboard. Very simple, just used MDF board for backboard (no ply this time, as termites are a problem) Important to put 3/4" or thicker spacers between the wall and the board, so you can spay insecticide. Used 1/4" expansion bolts.

Shelves are ply

sanjayrai55

For table, top should be minimum 3/4" (I used 20 mm) ply. Shelf is 6 mm ply. Legs/frame 1" X 2" wood. Triangular gussets used, wood screws (screwed in, not hammered)

Easy-peasy :D
