A bill has been introduced into the Oregon State Senate that would criminalize FPV flying and quite possibly all RC aviation throughout the state.

Senate Bill 71, meant to regulate ??? "drones," declares that this situation is an emergency,  :banghead: so that it will go into effect immediately after being passed into law.

Believe it or not, the legislative shenanigans go even further than that: this is a "shadow bill" – a term that I had never heard before – which means that its author and/or sponsors are not identified.

Legislating anonymously  ???

PS

Hear read further, this, any unmanned flying body is 'drone' and flying them is crimal offence. can you beat that ? Blistering barnacles!

Are these overgrown, over charging companies seeing death blow to their ventures, and this move is to check that?

What happens to those countries where, mil tech is heavily imported and civil RC flying is in the nascent stage and these big wigs can buy this law to be enacted?

Will it kill innovations by Civilians, Schools & Universities.

"unmanned flying body with camera attached can be treated as drone"

if flying without camera/fpv gear should not be objectionable.

Personally i think, Govt. is not wrong in banning the FPV/quads as it has big potential danger if used wrong way. I am sure there are & must lot many other ways and threats, but this is i think quickest way to reach target as compare to others. Instead of full ban in Oregon/where it is, there should be some alternates for it like - limit to 100-200m in public area by permission only, more on the country side, no fly zone in range of 1-2 km for the important places. this are just the suggestions, but there are capable people to think much more better for making policies.

banning the rc activity is yes fully nonsense thought  :banghead:

I don't think we need to panic, not yet. they are only talking about 'Drones' that fulfil the criteria mentioned under Section 1, its sub sections and sub sub sections thereof.  :giggle:
