what type of officials needed to be approached ?

Not sure where this discussion stopped.  If the ACI is the official body, and they refuse to entertain other clubs, the only option is to form another body, get some people "with contacts" to join, and make continuous whole-hearted efforts to gain legitimacy to the newly formed organisation. Some day, we want to see an IAMA or our own, which specifies the rules, issues cards, and does a lot more to promote this hobby at the grassroots level.

Looks like there is an avenue opening up...

ok guys
AMAI rc club of N Delhi has obtained recognition from ACI, and we have an open membership all India. The joining fee is 2,000 for life, and u will get an I card. This has just happenend a week ago.
Get to its forum and move forward ;
We r now trying to get approval for all types of radio eqpt.
