My aunt lives in Atlanta and my grandmother often travels to the states.

I'm planning to ask her to carry back a radio amidst other rc stuff for me from there since it's much cheaper. Will airport customs be an issue?

Anybody recently carried in a radio in check in luggage?

Hi,
i just came from Atlanta with 2 transmitter in my hand. i had taranis x9d plus and a jr propo x8r. there are no issues in bringing the transmitter. just tell check i guys you have a transmitter and they will allow.just follow their instruction. make sure if you have a lipo or nimh or any battery with the transmitter. they dont allow batteries in check in luggage. carry it in hand baggage. their only concern will be that it shouldn't be transmitting anything. remove the battery and keep it in hand luggage. otherwise your good to go. you wont have any issues. Always follow their instruction.

There is no battery in that package.

Should I ask her to simply put the radio in her check in and carry it? Or does she need to declare it or something?
