I guess it's old age, but after getting back into the hobby after a long time one often wonders....Whatever happened to......
E.G. Bob Byron, the founder of Byron Originals, the best Giant Scale Warbirds kits.. He would hire an island once a year, and anyone who bought a Byron Original was invited, and then there would be a recreation of WW 2! Heard that after his death, the co. now only sells fuel :(
Any more such guys?
Sanjay
wow..great news Sir.. :hatsoff:
And, there used to be a great RC flier, Mr. Randhawa....who has news of him?
Mr. Anup Randhawa is currently situated in hyderabad...! runs a flyingclub there :hatsoff:
That's nice to hear. Was he the one who flew an RC model (think it was Senior Telemaster) from Kanyakumari to Kashmir?
Whatever happened to the magazine RCM? (Radio Control Modeller)
I fly with Vicky Randhawa here in hyderabad . He is a great person and it is fun to watch him fly ! :D
Great!
RCM the Mag went out of business. They are still around selling lots of plans and accompanying magazine articles (from RCM). Here is the link

And apart from the plans there are some old magazine reviews of engines and other stuff free to view.
I buy plans from them and they are great to deal with

First it was Webra, Now RCM... these Chinese are definitely gonna ruin the world...
Byron Originals was run by Byron Godberson...they were and still are a large company that makes all sorts of things, like lawn furniture, boat trailers, etc...
The models were a passion project of the owner, and when he died, the liability associated with the models(they got sued several times) became too risky, they are a large company and very vulnerable to lawsuits...and they closed it up.
Eventually, the molds and such were bought by another company, Iron Bay, who never really did anything with it.

Byron did not fool around!

Wow! They don't make them like Byron any more!
BTW, anyone remember Sailesh Patel, the super hot Jet Flyer? And, whatever happened to Bob Violett models?
Well...they actually make much BETTER than Byron now! :) Our stuff is bigger, better, and cheaper...
BVM is still very much alive, still making the best quality jets around...the Electra has to be the finest EDF in the world...
I don't know if Shalish Patel is still active, but every once in a while, you will see a Sabre from one of his kits come up for sale...

Yep. this is old video as it says ......"Captain Vicky Randhawa and his helicopter long time ago in 1988/89.
Recorded by super 8 camera 23 years ago by Marek. Converted to DVD, so poor quality" {:)}

Who ever started out with an Aurora Bobni (I did) :giggle: :giggle:
Whatever happened to it? Is it still made? Ha a lot of fun, made about half a dozen, managed to get one to take off from the ground with a decent headwind ;D
Re Vineet's query of 23/3/12, the car is Studebaker Champion.
