RC is usually perceived as a *Hobby* by many hobbyists here.
But nowadays we are seeing that many guys (esp. students) are making RC models (esp. multirotors) as college projects etc.
Every hobbyist makes his plane/heli/other model with a passion and thoroughly enjoys building/flying it. On the other hand most guys who make RC vehicles as projects don't have any passion towards RC, they are like 'Build it (or buy?) - fly it - submit it - The end '

What is your opinion on this?
Will this pave way rather to the commercialisation of RC in india? Any other consequences?

A rc plane or multirotor as an engineering project doesn't make any sense to me. The students should add some value/creativity from their side to it. Like Bhanu on our forum was trying to build a VTOL delta for his project.

I am software engineer by choice.  I had no idea about rc and aeromodelling.  But then I created a quadcopter for them.  I came through a lot of video tutorials and explanations.  And now it has become my passion.  Because of the ban on the usage of these DRONES(AS WHAT THOSE IDIOTS CALL THEM)  i had to stop developing these in the office.  But it was so much fun,  knowing about these things. It has lead me to the stage,  wherein I am scratch building one for my own self.

What i have seen at local colleges is generally studets buy all electronics except a tx rx and fc.
They use to dovelop their own radio and so do to flight control boand and is generally multiwii based. I think this could be a good minor project.

I'm currently doing gesture controlled quadcopter as my third year mini project. I have purchased all the parts and will assemble the quad when everything arrives. The point of my project is gesture control, so designing and building a multi rotor is a waste of time and money. Instead, I have to focus on breaking down code in the APM I will be using and create my own algorithm which will allow me to convert hand movements to quadcopter movement control.

Wow. Great thought Cycloned.....!
Best of luck. :)
And keep sharing the news about your progress in the respective thing :D
