Banggood has listed 4K variant at $499. Don't even think of importing it in India at this moment unless you want Customs to seize it.

Hello All,

I am the unfortunate one, I have ordered the MI Drone in March 2017, and its stuck in Delhi Custom !!! As per the custom this product is under restricted category. I have received a letter from custom office, asking for DGCA approval and DGFT import license, Believe me its not possible to get those papers for people like me without any sources in higher authority, I have been to Delhi custom office two times and said all that I can, like its for a project POC, and its a frame with parts.. but I have not been able to get my MI drone released.. !!! worst part they (Custom) are not  send the drone back to the supplier, I am so desperate to get this drone !! Can any one help me release this form Delhi Custom, they want me to provide the below documents:

1) DGCA approval
2) DGFT import license

MI Drone:
Shipping Method:EMS Express Mail Service
Track Number:EH000644867SG

Any help will be greatly appreciated !!


Note: I have ordered many Quadcopter and Transmitters and all has been successful delivered to me in past one year form Banggood and Aliexpress  including big  quad like Eachine Assassin 180 V2 FPV w/Eachine VR-007 I6 Transmitter OSD GPS , JJRC H26 and others  all of them are sent through registered post of China, and Netherlander. This time it was sent by EMS Speed Post !! and thunder strike !! its with Delhi Custom and they are not even interested to talk all they said fist get the approval then come to us !!!!

Hi Argha,
When you order stuffs through banggood and aliexpress,their are people called 'forwarders' to take care of the customs.But when you order it directly by yourself,it's your responsibility to clear through customs.
Since it's pretty much costly,it's suggested that you apply for a license.There are possibilities that they might misjudge your purposes.It's always better to not argue with the govt. officials.

1.Get a permission from dgca.
2.Get licensed.(both are mandatory for you to get your drone).

So sad to hear that. Google search ended in DGCT homepage and some vague details which is impossible for normal people.

At-least customs should sent it back to the seller.

Thanks  for the reply i have read the documentation from  DGFT and DGCA the issues is I don't know how should i get those licence have been trying to apply online but that's it doesn't work so i am really clueless now how can i get those approval if anybody can help me with the process of approval that would be great

They some time custom ask to pay fine which is 30% of invoice if you import any restricted item.
Keep fingers crossed.

I am ready to pay that !! problem is they are asking for approval form DGFT and Import Licence DGCA which is like asking to bring god signature .. for common man @!!@

30-40% is customs duty for non restricted items. Restricted goods are mostly confiscated if you fail to provide what they have asked. The reason why they are not sending back because most of them are importing to try their luck. If lucky you will get the drone else you get the money. They might have understood this so they are not returning.

Is this website genuine. They are selling xiaomi drone and also dji drones. How did they imported them.  The mi drone is available for 58000 rs.
